On the 28 October Greeks all over the world celebrate and commemorate OXIDay, the day Greece was given the ultimatum of allowing The Axis forces access to Greece or face the full wrath of Mussolini’s forces.
The Greek people were defiant and answered with an unequivocal defiant “NO” (oxi in Greek) therefore bringing Greece into WW2
This decision aligned the nation with Great Britain. The Greek Army proved formidable, repelling Axis forces for nearly six months claiming the first victory for the Allied forces.
