Couple of things to share from the Aboriginal Communities And Families Research Alliance (ACRA) team at SAHMRI who joined us last Monday night on Nunga Wangga.

First is the flyer for the One Fire Many Flames conference. They are still accepting applications for the symposium and the last day to apply is midnight this Friday 29th May 2026.
Registration to attend the event is open and all the fees are at the website which can be found here: https://one-fire-many-flames-2026.eventsair.site/registrations

Second is a flyer for the Youth Advisory Group that Imani Austin coordinates and runs. We’re looking for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people in SA who are:
Aged between 13-24
Passionate about culture, community and making a difference
Willing to learn and share

There’s also the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Talent Register for people who would like to get involved in SAHMRI around employment here. Information can be found here: https://sahmri.org.au/careers-and-study/working-at-sahmri/vacancies/aboriginal-torres-strait-islander-talent-register

Lastly, there is a position currently available which is for a Senior Project Officer to take on the Gumnuts Program. Gumnut Babies is a 16-week parenting program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mothers and their babies (up to 2.5 years), with a nominated support person. The program supports strong mother–baby relationships within the context of Aboriginal families, kinship, culture and community—honouring cultural traditions, promoting healing and empowerment, and strengthening family wellbeing. Details can be found here: https://sahmri.org.au/careers-and-study/working-at-sahmri/vacancies/senior-project-officer-identified
