Pure, raw and timeliness, the straight-six S54 was engineered to connect driver and machine, perhaps like we’ll never truly witness again. As you look back across the early 21st century, there are surely few cars that truly can contest the individual throttle bodied 3.2-litre straight-six for pure driving pleasure, and when mated to the muscular-yet-classy exterior that’s aged like fine wine and sublime handling balance, it’s easy to see why this has remained such a sought after driver’s car, just as at home in a city commute as it is on a winding mountain road. Can you think of a better driver’s car?

What an honour it was to be part of the accredited media team at Drifting SA Winterfest '25! Shooting with a combo of my fast and accurate Fujifilm XT-5 and my new, but not at all well suited slow, manual focus Medium Format Fujifilm GFX 50S ii was a challenge, but a welcome one. It's never the easiest tracking cars moving quickly at some very creative angles, but the ladies and gentlemen at Drifting SA put on a fantastic show.
