💜 Dementia Action Week 2025
Nobody can do it alone
Dementia impacts individuals, families, carers, and entire communities.
• 433,300 Australians are living with dementia.
• 1.7 million people are involved in their care.
• 29,000 are living with younger onset dementia.
• Numbers are projected to rise to 812,500 by 2054.
More than one-third of people with dementia say they are treated differently after diagnosis. Friends drift away, carers feel isolated, and the emotional load is immense.
Watching someone you love lose independence, memory, and connection is heartbreaking, but none of us has to face it alone. Support shows up in many forms: a conversation, a visit, a shared memory, or a simple act of kindness.
This Dementia Action Week, reach out. Reconnect. Let someone living with dementia—or someone who loves them—know they are not alone. 💜
