Piotr Anderszewski to jeden z najwybitniejszych współczesnych pianistów w Europie i obok Krystiana Zimermana, najlepiej znanym dziś w świecie polskim pianistą. Ceniony jest za interpretacje wielu znanych kompozycji, a także za nowatorskie podejście podczas ich wykonywania. Jest sławnym wykonawcą utworów Schumanna, Bacha, Beethovena, Mozarta, Chopina i Szymanowskiego; za ich nagrania zdobył wiele prestiżowych nagród, oraz nominacje do nagrody Grammy w 2001 i 2005 roku. Anderszewski wielokrotnie występował z orkiestrami z całego świata, w najsłynniejszych salach koncertowych.

Piotr Anderszewski is one of the most distinguished contemporary pianists in Europe and, alongside Krystian Zimerman, is the best-known Polish pianists in the world today. He is renowned for his interpretations of many famous compositions, and also for his innovative approach to performing them. He is a highly regarded performer of works by Schumann, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, and Szymanowski. He has won countless prestigious awards for his recordings, as well as being nominated for a Grammy in 2001 and 2005. He has performed with numerous orchestras at some of the most renowned concert halls in the world.

I’ll share the details of how it happened as well as tell you where in Poland you can view the mural commemorating this special event. I’ll also mention of the collaboration of Australia and Poland to tackle the growing threat of space debris.

Back on Earth, I’ll share the best and worst cities to live in across Poland, unveil which Polish city’s old town has been named the best in Europe, and the Polish city that has been voted the best destination in Europe for a short trip.

I’ll mention the upcoming concert of Polish pianist, Piotr Anderszewski at Adelaide Town Hall. And share some details of PolArt Adelaide 2025 – the largest Polish arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere, celebrating Polish visual art, dance, theatre, music and literature, kicking off in Adelaide in under three months’ time!

This evening’s show is all about music, specifically Polish Psychedelic Rock Music from recent years. I'll provide a brief history of early Polish Psych Rock from the late 1960s and 1970s, before presenting the music and bands of modern Polish psychedelia. You'll hear songs that have been released as recently as two weeks ago. I'll also be featuring the band, Oranżada, who this year have not only released their sixth album "Salto", but have also followed it up with a new single.

Last Saturday, Poles marked the 234th anniversary of the adoption of the 3rd May Constitution. I’ll share the history of this event and its significance on Poland’s National Identity.

Friday 2nd May was also a day of celebration for Poles all around the world, for it was not only Polish National Flag Day, but also the Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad. I’ll talk about the significance of those as well as the shared Polish-Australian history and experiences, including various Polish contributions to multicultural Australia.

This evening’s show is dedicated to the music of the Stan Wojenny (Martial Law) period in Poland, which lasted from December 1981 to July 1983. You’ll hear about the new and different sounds that emerged, the main themes that featured in songs, the difficulties the music industry faced including censorship, and the foreign bands who made the biggest impact on Polish music lovers at that time. The music presented throughout the show will be a selection of songs that were released during that period including rock, blues, punk, post-punk and even heavy metal.
