In the heart of a city where dreams often play,
Six candles extinguished, too soon swept away.
In the bustling silence that followed the storm,
We found our true heroes, in uniform and form.
Mothers and fathers, whose days turned to night,
Held tight to the memories, to love’s lasting light.
Their bravery, a beacon that never shall fade,
In the tapestry of courage, so lovingly made.
Emergency responders, with hearts bold and vast,
Rushing toward danger, as shadows were cast.
Their valor speaks silently in the rush and the race,
In each life they touched, in each soul, they embrace.
Yet through tears that fall on the city's soft ground,
A chorus of hope and strength does resound.
For every life taken, an echo remains,
A whisper of love, through eternity's veins.
We weep for the lost, for the pain, for the cost,
For the innocence shattered, for the lines that were crossed.
But in every tear, see, a reflection of light,
Of those who stood up, who carried the fight.
The cradle of community rocks with each breath,
In the face of despair, we're not tempted by death.
For the spirit of those gone forever imparts,
A covenant of kindness in all of our hearts.
Let's hold to the promise of dawn's gentle rise,
As we honor the fallen, the brave, the wise.
Six stars now shining on a celestial shore,
Guiding us to love just a little bit more.
So we stand together, our gazes turned skyward,
With hope as our anthem, its melody heard.
In the bravery of heroes, in the love that we cry,
In the hands that we hold, under one vast sky.
