Unfortunately due to the weather, we won’t be Going Ballistic in Waikerie on Saturday night. Please still get along and support the award winners and enjoy live music if you can.
The Waikerie Australia Day Event committee work is extremely hard each year to ensure this event is a success. We thank them for our involvement every year and appreciate the hard work involved.
✨IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE WAIKERIE AUSTRALIA DAY EVENT COMMITTEE ✨
Due to the predicted weather forecast and in the interest of everyone’s safety, we have made the difficult decision that we will unfortunately have to modify the Waikerie Hotel Motel Australia Day Event held Saturday 24th January 2026.
We know that this is disappointing and we apologise for the late change, but we are unable to control the weather and the safety of our community, volunteers and vendors needs to be the number one priority.
Unfortunately to reduce the risks associated with the extreme heat predicted the fireworks have been cancelled, no carnival rides are able to operate and there will be no food stalls or tables set up on the oval.
The modified event will include Maggies Bistro & Function Centre being opened with schnitzels being served from 6pm. To book a table at Maggies Bistro & Function Centre please contact 0490 607 731.
The stage will be set up on the oval with live music from GenX playing from 8pm. An outside bar will also be open and as it is still a licenced event there will be no BYO permitted.
Come out and support those that received the community awards for Waikerie including the Citizen of the Year, Event of the Year and Active Citizenship which will be presented at 8:30pm.
For those that booked tables for the event online a refund will be automatically generated. If you booked in person at Sutton Ford, contact us to organise a refund.
We would like to acknowledge the support of our naming rights sponsor Waikerie Hotel Motel along with all our other sponsors including the District Council of Loxton Waikerie.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
