REVIZE is expanding from Rising Sun Pictures across Pitch Black.

What began at RSP in 2018 in response to real production challenges has evolved into Pitch Black’s production-proven AI and machine learning capability for VFX, shaped through more than 30 major projects by artists, technologists, and production teams.

Now, teams at FOLKS, El Ranchito, and Square One will join RSP in putting REVIZE to work and contributing their own ideas and distinct expertise to its continued evolution.

We’re proud of Troy Tobin and the RSP teams who built REVIZE to this point, and excited to see where our Pitch Black network takes it next.

Rising Sun Pictures is proud to be recognised with a 2026 Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy Award for AI-Based Face Replacement and Performance-Preserving Post-Production Transformation.

This recognition reflects the incredible work of our REVIZE team and the artists, developers and innovators who have been advancing this technology since 2018. Congratulations to everyone involved in its development and integration across recent productions including Mickey 17, Sinners, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and many more projects that have helped push the boundaries of digital performance work.

We're proud to be recognised alongside Disney Research, Digital Domain and Metaphysic (Brahma AI), with this award celebrating innovation that is helping shape the future of visual effects and storytelling.

End of Trimester 2 VFX Presentations!

Last week marked the End of Trimester 2 presentations for students in the Bachelor of Visual Effects, delivered in partnership with Rising Sun Pictures and Adelaide University. Students showcased their work to peers, lecturers and RSP staff, receiving valuable feedback while demonstrating their growing skills across Creature FX and 3D Animation.

Thank you to all the students and staff involved, and congratulations on another successful trimester.

Some highlights from Movie Magic 2026

Thanks to the Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML) and the Visual Effects Society (VES) for bringing together industry and research leaders to explore the future of AI in filmmaking.

RSP Lighting Supervisor Greg Wieder discussed our continued adoption of machine learning, exploring how AI is being integrated into data management, pipeline workflows, and business operations beyond traditional artist-facing applications.
