I was honoured to do visuals for the last hurrah at Adelaide’s longest running DIY punk warehouse ANIMAL HOUSE/Rewind. After 16 years of shows, housing, band rehearsals, community events, noodle extravaganzas and more - the increasing rent finally became completely unaffordable. We all have lots of memories inside this besa brick beauty and it was lovely to give it a proper send off with a great cross section of acts from across the scene!
Thanks to Lewis (ratboy ), the Rewind Sound & Studios crew, the starting lineup of punks, to all the bands that have played over the years and all the folks who lived or moshed in the big shed!

ANIMAL HOUSE/ Rewind Sound and Studios are closing their roller door at the western suburbs warehouse after 16 years of service. Originally started by Lewis G and a bunch of young punks this warehouse was a space for heavy music shows, jam rooms, parties, community events and housing for a long list of creatives and punks over the years. This place played a crucial role in Adelaide alternative music scene and I have many fond memories seeing shows, playing shows or rehearsing for shows within its besa brick and egg carton walls! It is a sad day as the long arms of gentrification strangle yet another community space. However this is not the end, although Rewind Sound and Studios are now without a headquarters they will still support the community with events, fundraisers etc, so stay tuned for the next iteration.
Until then let’s have one last send off for this old warehouse!!

ECOLOGICAL ADAPTATION // by Yandell Walton recently showed at WINTERLIVE festival.
Reflecting on the last 2 week development and public show of this technologically ambitious and entangled AV movement performance! Live motion capture from 2 dancers driving retargeted photogrammetry plants, lighting cues, music and more. The complex multi-input/output network structure de-centralises the humans to create an almost autonomous project with interconnected DMX lighting, 8-channel sound and real-time rendered vision on 3 moveable LED walls that are mapped in virtual 3D space.
It was such a pleasure to work with such an incredible team to bring Yandell’s project to life over the last few years of development.
