Introducing Nick Launchbury - facilitator of our first Sunday Self-Tape Sesh. If you are a young person serious about a film career, or just wanting to improve your skills/make connections, this is the workshop for you!
Nick Launchbury is an Australian actor, filmmaker, and producer with more than 15 years of experience in the screen industry. He has appeared in over 55 short and feature films (32 on Imdb), building a diverse body of work across TV and Film.
Nick’s notable screen credits include Storm Boy (dir. Shawn Seet), Channel 7’s RFDS (dir. Adrian Russell Wills), ABC’s Ladies In Black alongside Jessica De Gouw (dir. Gracie Otto), Within The Pines (dir. Paul Evans Thomas), which won Best Feature Film at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, and the feature Electric Feel (dir. Sean Bell), where he appears as part of the main cast. Most recently, Nick played Dr. Viktor Frankenstein in the Asylum feature film Bride of Frankenstein (dir. Erica Duke).
Alongside his acting career, Nick is also the co-founder of Prompt Side Actors’ Collective, where he teaches on-camera technique, self-taping, and practical acting tools rooted in the Howard Fine and Uta Hagen approach. Nick specialises in helping actors build truthful, connected performances that hold up under professional screen conditions.
As both a working actor and a filmmaker, Nick brings real industry insight to every class — from breaking down scenes to understanding what casting directors and directors look for on tape. His passion is helping actors level up their craft, build confidence, and deliver work that books.
