ROCK MOVES with Julie Reynolds

TUES & THURS 2PM

This Week:
When you talk about people who’ve truly lived inside music—the heart of it, the craft, the culture, the stories—Sean Sennett sits right at the epicenter.

As the former owner of Brisbane’s street magazine (Time Off) he’s interviewed Bowie, McCartney, Springsteen… and that’s just the A-list name-drop appetizer.

But Sean isn’t just the one asking the questions; he’s in the arena too.

He has recorded with Steve Kilbey from The Church and Kate Ceberano, and released multiple albums with Midnight Oil’s Rob Hirst, including their latest brilliant collaboration, “Born Electric”

A songwriter, musician, podcaster, thinker, and one of the most respected voices in Australian music storytelling.

Today on Rock Moves, we go deeper than the headlines. We go back to the records that lit the spark, the moments that forged the path, the doors that opened—and the ones that had to be pushed open.

Clever, honest, generous, Sean Sennett is fast becoming one of my favorites. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this chat too.

MON 2:00PM‬ & FRI 10:30PM

This week:
Dennis Tufano is the original lead singer of The Buckinghams, the Chicago pop-rock band that rose to fame in the 1960s with timeless hits like “Kind of a Drag,” “Don’t You Care,” “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy,” and “Susan.”

His rich, soulful voice became one of the defining sounds of American pop music during an era dominated by the British Invasion.

With a career spanning over five decades Dennis Tufano is still regarded as one of the most distinctive vocalists in American pop-rock history.

The Dead Daisies debuted Stonedead this year for the finale show of their hugely successful UK Tour hitting the stage at dusk.

So thrilled by the experience they decided to release ‘Live At Stonedead’ to bring that raw
energy of this iconic event to life for everyone.

The album captures the band
in full flight with frontman John Corabi commanding the stage, Doug Aldrich tearing into his guitar solos, David Lowy’s driving riffs, Michael Devin with his thunderous bass and Tommy Clufetos pounding those skins along with the kind of crowd energy only Stonedead can deliver.

“A BREATH OF FRESH AIR” with Sandy Kaye

MON 2:00PM‬ & FRI 10:30PM

This week:
Before Hotel California and worldwide fame, there was Bernie Leadon — the multi-instrumentalist who gave The Eagles their original country-rock soul.

A founding member of the band, Bernie blended bluegrass, folk, and rock to create a sound that redefined American music.

His influence runs through timeless hits such as Take It Easy, Peaceful Easy Feeling, and Desperado, where his harmonies and string work helped forge the band’s classic sound.

Now, with his latest solo album, ‘Too Late to be Cool’ Bernie Leadon revisits the Americana and roots influences that first inspired him.

His story is one of creativity, reinvention, and musical honesty — the mark of a true original who helped give The Eagles their wings.

“A BREATH OF FRESH AIR” with Sandy Kaye

MON 2:00PM‬ & FRI 10:30PM

This week:
Dion DiMucci grew up surrounded by the sounds of doo-wop, blues, and R&B echoing through New York’s streets.

As the frontman of Dion and the Belmonts, he helped shape the sound of 1950s rock and roll with hits like “I Wonder Why” and “A Teenager in Love”, but it was his solo career that turned him into a global icon.

Songs such as “Runaround Sue” and “The Wanderer” captured the spirit of a generation — tough, restless, and full of heart.

“A BREATH OF FRESH AIR” with Sandy Kaye

MON 2:00PM‬ & FRI 10:30PM

This week:
John Lodge was the melodic heart of The Moody Blues, the bass guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist who helped turn the band from an R&B outfit into one of the most imaginative forces in progressive rock.

“Ride My See-Saw,” “Isn’t Life Strange,” and “I’m Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)” became staples of rock radio and concert halls worldwide.

Their landmark album Days of Future Passed (1967) and its orchestral fusion of rock and classical music changed the genre forever.

His passing in 2025 marked the end of an era — but his music, message, and gentle heart continue to inspire listeners across the world.

The group made history as the first act signed to the Holland-Dozier-Holland label, and their success opened doors for countless female groups in R&B.

“A BREATH OF FRESH AIR” with Sandy Kaye

MON 2:00PM‬ & FRI 10:30PM

This week:
Canadian singer-songwriter Andy Kim is best known for his global hits Rock Me Gently and Sugar, Sugar, but his story goes far beyond the charts.

Kim left home as a teenager to chase his dreams in New York’s Brill Building, where he co-wrote the bubblegum classic Sugar, Sugar for The Archies.

By the mid-’70s, he scored his own No. 1 with the soulful Rock Me Gently, cementing his place in pop music history.

Today, he’s celebrated as a Canadian icon, inducted into the Music Hall of Fame, and beloved for his annual Andy Kim Christmas Show.
