Sri Lanka’s beloved kidswear brand Kia & Kel has officially launched Santa’s Market 2025, unveiling the country’s largest Christmas-themed kidswear collection. Featuring over 80 unique festive T-shirt designs, the collection combines the brand’s signature comfort, quality, and irresistible cuteness, just in time for the most magical season of the year.

A Festive Celebration of “Little Moments, Big Smiles”

From jolly Santas and dancing reindeer to sparkling snowflakes and gingerbread friends, Kia & Kel’s Santa’s Market captures the joy and wonder of Christmas in every tiny detail. For the first time ever, parents can personalize their child’s T-shirt with their name, making it the perfect keepsake for family photos and Christmas parties.

“We wanted to bring something truly special to Sri Lankan parents this year,” said Nayodya Perera, Co-Founder of Kia & Kel. “Every child deserves to feel the magic of the holidays, and what better way than wearing a comfy, custom-made shirt with their own name on it.” Crafted with soft, breathable cotton and vibrant, long-lasting prints, each piece is designed for both style and comfort, perfect for Sri Lanka’s tropical December weather. The collection caters to children aged 3 months to 12 years, with styles for both boys and girls.

Adding a sustainable twist to the festivities, Kia & Kel is including a special gift with the first 100 orders, a Christmas wish you can plant. Each gift features a beautifully designed biodegradable seed card embedded with real seeds. Families can write their child’s Christmas wish on the card, plant it in soil, and watch it grow into a small plant, a heartwarming symbol of hope, love, and sustainability.

“We wanted to give our customers something that grows, just like the joy their little ones bring,” added Nayodya. “It’s our way of teaching children that even small actions, like planting a seed, can make the world brighter.” This thoughtful gesture reflects Kia & Kel’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and conscious parenting, turning the joy of gifting into an opportunity for learning and love.

Make It a December to Remember

08/12/2025

Jetstar will take off for the first time from Australia to Sri Lanka in August next year, with the launch of the only direct low-cost service from Melbourne to the South Asian nation’s capital, Colombo.

From 25 August 2026, Jetstar will become the first Australian airline to operate this route, flying three times a week between Melbourne and Colombo and offering more than 100,000 low-fare seats a year on the new route.

This year-round service will be operated by Jetstar’s fleet of 11 widebody Boeing 787 Dreamliners which are progressively being upgraded from early next year to overhaul both the economy and business class cabins*.

The interior refit includes more than doubling the number of business class seats and installing Wi-Fi so customers can stream entertainment to their own devices.

The addition of a new lie-flat crew rest area to allow flights of up to 16 hours will open the door to even more incredible long-haul destinations in the future. The first of the upgraded aircraft is due to touchdown in Melbourne in late March 2026.

The countdown is on to these new flights going on sale at midday (AEDT), Monday 08 December.

At that time, Jetstar will launch a 24-hour Route Launch Sale with one-way fares available between Melbourne (Tullamarine) and Colombo from only $315^ at jetstar.com.

The launch of Melbourne to Colombo flights comes during one of the most exciting growth periods in Jetstar’s almost 22-year history.

Over the past two years, the airline has announced 26 new routes and welcomed 13 new aircraft, allowing travellers to take off more, for less.

2025 has been a standout year, with 14 new routes announced – nine of them international – with more exciting growth plans in coming years.

This year the Melbourne based carrier is also celebrating 10 years of operating domestically from Melbourne’s T4, having carried more than 50 million customers through the terminal.

The new route announcement comes as Jetstar prepares for its biggest Christmas ever.

Jetstar is forecast to carry a record of almost six million passengers across its Australian, New Zealand, Japan and international network throughout December and January.

This includes a record 1.7 million passengers flying through Melbourne alone across the summer peak.

CEO, Stephanie Tully, said the airline’s Melbourne to Colombo route will give Australians a new, direct and affordable way to take off more to Sri Lanka.

“Colombo is an incredible destination, and from August next year, we’re excited to be making it easier for Aussies to experience everything the beautiful country of Sri Lanka has to offer.

“This new route out of our home base of Melbourne is part of a huge growth phase for Jetstar. We’ve added new destinations, more aircraft and we’re continuing to expand our international network to give travellers even more choice and opportunities to take off for less.”

Melbourne Airport Chief Executive Officer, Lorie Argus, welcomed Jetstar’s new flights to Sri Lanka as the airport and airline celebrate 10 years since the opening of Terminal 4.

“We're thrilled to see Sri Lanka, one of the region’s fastest-growing destinations, become Jetstar's 10th international destination from Melbourne.

“More Jetstar flights mean more legendary low fares - making it easier than ever for Victorians to explore this part of the world for leisure or to visit family and relatives.

“We’re marking a major milestone as we celebrate a decade since Jetstar moved into its home at Terminal 4 and it’s fantastic to see how our partnership has strengthened. A decade on, we're proud to be Jetstar's largest hub."

Flights from Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Colombo are subject to Government and Regulatory approval.

26/11/2025

When Sheron Loftus boarded a flight to Dubai in 2011, she carried more than just luggage — she brought with her a dream, an ambition, and a belief that something extraordinary was waiting for her. Today, as the co-host of a leading evening drivetime show on BEAT FM in Dubai, she’s living proof that intuition, resilience, and passion can take you places you never imagined.

From Real Estate Hustle to Radio Waves

Sheron didn’t land in radio the moment she arrived in Dubai. In fact, her first chapter in the city started in real estate — an industry she not only embraced but thrived in.

“Dubai has a way of surprising you,” she reflects. “I learned so much, met incredible people, and it shaped the person I am today.”

But in 2017, destiny tapped her on the shoulder. A brand-new radio station was launching in the UAE, and Sheron was chosen to host its morning show — her first major break in the world she had long dreamed of entering.

“That was the moment I stepped into the world I’d always dreamed of. And what a ride it has been!”

Since then, her voice, energy, and warmth have been lighting up the airwaves, making her a familiar companion to thousands across the city.

Motherhood, Balance & the Beautiful Chaos

Behind the microphone, Sheron is a dynamic professional. But behind the scenes, she is first and foremost a devoted mother.

“It’s always a juggling act,” she admits. “Even when you’re working, you’re thinking — Is he okay? Did he eat? What’s he up to? I don’t think that feeling ever goes away.”

At one point, she even stepped away from her career entirely, taking a three-year break to be a stay-at-home mom. It was a decision driven by instinct and love.

“Now that he’s a toddler and can express himself, I feel much more comfortable stepping away for a few hours,” she says. “And the show I’m doing now works out perfectly — evenings from 4 to 8 — it fits beautifully into our routine.”

For Sheron, motherhood hasn’t slowed her down — it has grounded her, given her perspective, and made her radio journey even more meaningful.

Dubai: A Radio Landscape Like No Other

Having started her radio journey in Sri Lanka at just 19, Sheron appreciates both where she came from and where she stands today.

“Radio in Dubai is on a completely different scale,” she explains. “You’re constantly in the public eye — out at events, hosting, connecting with listeners. I love that energy.”

Her Sri Lankan beginnings gave her the foundation; Dubai gave her the platform to amplify it.

“It’s opened so many doors and introduced me to such a diverse audience. It keeps you busy, creative, growing.”

The Joy of Being On Air

Ask Sheron what she loves most about radio and her answer is simple — everything.

“The music, the energy, the presenting, the interactions…connecting with listeners on such a personal level — I love every part of it.”

Five days a week, from 4 to 8 PM, she and her co-host keep Dubai company during the drive home, wrapping up the day with stories, laughter, and positivity.

Sheron’s talents extend well beyond radio. With experience as a news presenter on Prime TV, and a music show host back in Sri Lanka, she’s no stranger to the screen.

“If the opportunity to join TV came along, I would absolutely take it,” she says confidently. “If there’s one thing my journey has taught me, it’s to always say yes when opportunity comes knocking.”

At Home, She’s Not a Presenter — Just Mom

Despite her growing public presence, Sheron’s world centers around her son. When she’s off-air, she’s home — cooking, playing, planning her errands around his school hours, and savoring every moment.

“If I’m not working, I’m at home being mom,” she smiles. “That’s the most important thing.”

From Sri Lanka to Dubai, from real estate to prime-time radio, from ambitious dreamer to beloved voice — Sheron Loftus isn’t just living her dream. She’s building it, shaping it, and inspiring others along the way.

Her story is one of courage, reinvention, and saying yes — again and again — to the unknown.

And for Sheron, the best part is clear: the journey isn’t over yet.
