Binalup, Menang: First Light, First People exhibition is opening this Friday, 10am at The City of Albany Town Hall. Free, open to all, and the perfect introduction to NAIDOC Week 2026 kicking off in early July.

🎭 Friday evening: Djilba: A Moment in Time at Albany Town Hall, 7:30pm. Floeur Alder's solo dance exploring the Noongar season. Tickets $20–$25.

🌾 BUSINESS OF THE WEEK
Thorndyke Estate is a brand new adults-only farm stay on 32 acres of working farmland in the Scotsdale Valley, 16km from Denmark. Maisie's Cottage is the accommodation: three bedrooms, a king four-poster bed, outdoor bath, vintage 1960s pool table, country kitchen, and fireplace.

Farm tours take guests through the working property. Romantic picnics are set up in the olive grove or bushland. Devon cattle and ring-neck pheasants live on the estate, along with a truffle grove and working orchard.

Built over four years by two veterans committed to organic and natural farming. They're now welcoming their first guests.

Cracking week ahead for the Great Southern.

🎵 The highlight is Saturday night. The City of Albany Live @ the Town Hall is back at Albany Town Hall with WA originals and touring artists from 6–11:30pm. All ages, free entry.

🎶 Friday brings the Albany Eisteddfod Encore at Princess Royal Theatre. Standout performances from the 46th Eisteddfod, featuring performers aged 3–83. Tickets at the Albany Entertainment Centre box office, 7pm.

🍽️ Rock Salt Restaurant Albany has back-to-back food events: Friday Night Texas Smokehouse Feast from 5:15pm, then Saturday the Big Seafood Bash (creamy garlic prawns and the Marry Me Shrimp) from 5:15pm Saturday.

🏉 Great Southern Storm is playing at the Great Southern Colts Carnival at Lake Grace from 9am Saturday.

🐟 BUSINESS OF THE WEEK
There's a fish and chip shop at Middleton Beach that's been judged Australia's best twice: in 2018 and again in 2024. If you've been, you know. If you haven't, it's worth fixing that.

Hooked sources directly from local fishermen across Albany, Denmark and Bremer Bay. The menu runs from King George Whiting and WA Dhufish to fish tacos, fresh Albany oysters and a loaded seafood basket. Finish with gelato from the kiosk out front. Tables can be booked.

They also run an oyster van for your next event (.albany) and a fishing podcast worth your time ().

Echoes of Pink Floyd at Albany Entertainment Centre this Friday.

Big WA Day long weekend coming up for the Great Southern.

🎵 Denmark Festival of Voice takes over Denmark this weekend - free opening Friday night at ArtsHouse with Mooditj Nop Dancers, then choirs, youth bands and spoken-word poets across the weekend. Full program at Denmark Arts.

🎭 Cirque Nouvelle at Albany Entertainment Centre Friday at 5pm with international acrobatics, aerials and juggling.

🏎️ Sunday is stacked for WA Day: the 90th Albany Classic "Around the Houses", Albany Surf Life Saving Club Surf Craft Challenge and Albany Athletics Club - Inc WA Elleker Running Festival from morning, plus AFL Masters Southwest Carnival at Retravision Stadium Sporting Precinct.

🎉 WA Day Monday: free family day at the Museum of the Great Southern, 10am–2pm.

🍔 BUSINESS OF THE WEEK
The pair behind Albany's Muncheez Pitstop burger van opened 369 Bar & Grill inside Ibis Styles on Albany Hwy in December. The regulars from the van found their way there fast.

The smash burgers made the trip. So did a 300g scotch fillet that one Local Guide called "one of the best I've ever had," chicken parmi four ways, and a full bar with Albany's only rotating frozen cocktail menu (20 varieties, five pouring any given day). Games room out the back since March. Breakfast from 7am.

One visitor went back for breakfast three days straight.
