✨️✨️Exciting news for Aldinga Beach ✨️✨️
I handed my phone to my six year old to take a few photos. While I got over 50 to choose from, they range from close ups of his forehead, blurry photos, action shots of me telling him what to do and a few in focus pics. 🤣
So while the photography might not be award-winning, the proposed playground is going to be fantastic!
We popped down to Symonds Reserve where a new playground is going to be built (pending approval of the budget in coming weeks).
After community feedback the playground will include:
✨️ Monkey bars and rope climbing structures
✨️ Platform with slides
✨️6 swings (4 standard seats and 2 joey swings)
✨️See-saw, spinner, carousel and springers
✨️ Hammocks
✨️ Interactive music play including song gongs
✨️ Interactive sound bridge and sensory path
✨️ Sign language board, communication board, tongue drum musical panel and sensory panel
✨️ Gumnut chairs, blossom seats, sitting logs and rocks
✨️ Shade sails and additional tree planting for future shade
✨️ Two shelters with BBQ and picnic table
✨️Drink fountain and dog bowl
✨️ Outdoor table tennis table
✨️ Tree planting and revegetation
✨️ Irrigated grass areas
✨️Passively irrigated rain garden
✨️ New footpath connection
Thanks to everyone who contributed their ideas. I have spent the last few years advocating for shades on our playgrounds, more trees and sign language boards included too. So many people have spoken to me about the importance of these and they have been so patient, I am excited for the community that we have now arrived at this point 👌👌
