Yartulu Yartulu Band in it’s original lineup released their first album Kanga Julu Piwa (Take Me Back To My Country) on cassette in 1994. The album itself is a blend of rock, country gospel and reggae a sound distinctive across Central Australia and the Barkly Region. The band often used their music to confront and raise awareness about issues affecting Aboriginal people. The band now features many of the children from the original lineup and sing about their ancestors and everyday life.

Legendary Pitjantjatjara band Ilkari Maru released their second album Wangangarangku Rungkanu in 1987 to follow up from the smash hit debut self-titled album released in 1984 and digitally remastered in 2020. CAAMA are happy to share this digitally remastered album with you previously only available on cassette tape. In the 1980s this album was in such high demand staff regularly had to box up cassette tapes and send them to radio stations around the country to share the music. The classic desert rock sounds of Ilkari Maru play a huge role in the sounds of Central Australia and influence on many bands today.

Trevor Adamson's second album Where I Belong was recorded in Tamworth and released on the CAAMA Label in 1989. The title track was written about the feeling when you are away from your country and stuck in the city or another town and you’re missing where you belong. Trevor says of the songwriting process, “Your country is a part of you and when you return you’re happy to be a part of it and that’s where I said, that’s where I belong”. The album artwork was painted by Trevor and depicts the Ili (wild fig) his totem from his fathers and grandfathers country.
