Happy 70th birthday to Australian television! 📺

From Bruce Gyngell’s first broadcast in 1956 to today, TV has spent seven decades informing, entertaining and bringing Australians together.

The latest Deloitte research shows that role still matters, with 78% of Australians saying commercial TV creates shared experiences across communities and 65% of regional Australians saying it helps spotlight their communities.

One of Australia's most respected Aboriginal leaders, Aunty Pat Turner AO has dedicated more than 50 years to rights, wellbeing and self-determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Her work spans senior public service leadership, national policy reform, Closing the Gap and mentoring generations of leaders.
