Throwback to Saturday, August 29, 2026, when the ICTV crew was on the ground LIVE for the Rovers Football Club and Pioneer Football & Community Club Inc Senior Menโ€™s Grand Final at Traeger Park Oval in Alice Springs. ๐Ÿ†

Before the game, supporters prepared their banners, flags, streamers and voices to cheer on their teams as they ran onto the field. It was a close game, but the Rovers locked in the win and claimed the 2026 TIO CAFL Senior Men Grand Final Premiership Cup. Congratulations, Rovers Football Club, on your win.

It was also great to see the Pioneer Eagles Senior Menโ€™s coach show incredible sportsmanship by congratulating the Rovers on their grand final victory. ๐Ÿซถ

The Western Aranda Bulldogs have won the CAFL Community Grand Final after defeating the Yuendumu Magpies 12.6.78 to 10.8.68 at Traeger Park Oval in Alice Springs Mparntwe on Sunday, 23 August.

The match drew supporters from both communities, with families and friends travelling to the oval to watch the teams compete. Supporters wore team shirts, carried flags and displayed their team colours throughout the day.

The Yuendumu Magpies returned to the grand final after last appearing in the 2020 Division 2 Grand Final. Despite a strong and competitive performance, the Magpies were defeated by the Western Aranda Bulldogs, whose victory was celebrated by supporters at the final siren.

Today is Indigenous Literacy Day, and to celebrate this special day, ICTV will be airing its new film and hosting a LIVE event from the Sydney Opera House. The theme this year is Country Is Our Teacher. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“š

Indigenous Literacy Day is proudly produced and presented by the The Indigenous Literacy Foundation. It is an annual celebration of First Nations peoplesโ€™ stories, cultures and languages, suitable for all ages, and celebrates this yearโ€™s theme, Country Is Our Teacher.

Come on an adventure into the Central Desert of Australia, where viewers will learn from Niningka and Chris, two children living in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and Nyirripi, NT. Viewers will learn about life on Warlpiri Country in Nyirripi and Mparntwe, and learn words in Warlpiri and Arrernte languages.

The livestream will follow directly after the film. Join a live celebration of stories, cultures and languages from the Sydney Opera House, featuring song, storytelling and further learning about Aboriginal cultures.

This year, we will also celebrate remote community authors from Warakurna, Western Australia, with the launch of their book, My Walk Through the Seasons on Ngaanyatjarra Country.
