Four simple(beginner friendly!) tips for profesh looking videos 👏🏽🤩

1️⃣ Great Lighting - while video trends have come & gone over the years, GREAT lighting will always be on trend 👌🏽

Either use a right light/lamp 💡 OR set yourself up somewhere with awesome natural light like a big window or head outside ☀️

2️⃣ Use a Tripod/Phone Mount - keep your camera straight & your hands free to do what you like. Mounting your camera also avoids any shaky footage happening

If you don’t want to spend a fortune, a fave of mine is the $8 bendy legged tripod from 😉

3️⃣ Turn on the Timer Feature - give yourself a countdown PLUS eliminate the weird “tap-screen-then-step-back” from happening at the start of your video (nobody enjoys this 🙃) by using the timer feature.

You can set it to 3 or 10 seconds depending how much time you need ⏱️

4️⃣ Clean your F*%king Lens - probably the most important one of all! Make sure your lens is clean before filming (or photographing!) anything.

Nothing more disappointing than realising your great video/photo has been ruined by a smeared lens 🥺

How to... CANVA! ✌🏽🤓

Adding a Coloured Outline to a cut out image 🪄

Ever wondered how people got that attention grabbing outline (often in brand colours 😉) around their cut out photographs? Well here's how!

Here's an easy follow step by step from me to you ☺️👇🏽

1️⃣ After removing the background from your cut out, select the image & head to Edit Image > Shadows > Glow

2️⃣ Using the Glow menu set the transparency to 100 & blur to 0 to get a solid line, then adjust the thickness of your outline using the size slider

3️⃣ Resize & reposition your newly outlined cut out on your design & hit save!

T H R E A D S 🧵 honestly don’t think I’ve ever heard the term ‘threads’ used so much in a 36hr period 🤪

Everrryyyyyybody’s talking about it… & it’s sure ruffled a few feathers 😜 in the social landscape in it’s short lifetime.

Smashing the 30million users mark in less than a day 🤯 it’s the fastest growing app EVER.

So what’s the hype? 🤔

It’s like if the ‘gram & the tweets had a love child, with more of a focus on text, over images & video, which you can still share over there.

Here’s the 411:

👉🏽 Login using your Insta & import all info over there with a simple tap

👉🏽 Posts can be up to 500 characters with the option to attach img/vid, or share links…which are clickable on threads!

👉🏽 Follow your current IG audience & find new accounts to follow

At this stage the vibes are very chilled & lighthearted in the new space, with its format encouraging interaction between users 👯‍♀️

It’s not a space for the hard sell or promotion 🙅🏼‍♀️ well not at this stage anyway.

Rather it’s a space for making connections & starting conversations.

I think there’s a lot of potential to make connections there that you can transfer to your Instagram 📲

Do you really have nothing to post or are you just overthinking it? 😵‍💫

A common cause I’m noticing when it comes to content block in my clients is overthinking. 🫥

They’ll scroll socials for “inspiration”, fall down the scroll hole, start comparing their content to others, overthink the process… then they don’t post at all 🥺

Sound familiar? 😬

It’s more common than you think, esp so in the modern landscape of fancy reels, interactive carousels & animated graphics… the comparison feels can be real! 🫠

If you find yourself slipping into this mode regularly, here’s one way to stop…. Stop scrolling ✋🏽

There’s a fine line between scrolling for inspo & scrolling that destroys your inspo, which is easy to cross.

Instead look at your own content & your own insights to inspire you on what to create more content around. Remember the success of previous posts is a strong indication of what you should share more of 🙌🏽
