This stunning old bluestone building near Axedale has definitely seen better days – but wow, what a beauty! 😍

Captured perfectly by Darren Borthwick, it’s the kind of place that makes you wonder about its past and dream about its future. 🏚️

With its solid stonework and rustic charm still holding strong, it’s easy to imagine how incredible it could look with a careful restoration. 👷🏻‍♂️

Surely something this beautiful deserves a second chance? ☺️

Out on the McIvor Hwy near Knowsley yesterday, cops came across a red Commodore parked all crooked on the roadside.

Inside? A couple of fellas with no licences and no solid idea what they were doing – just vibin’ their way through life, apparently.

Cops gave ’em the usual spiel – “Don’t drive it, call a mate, don’t be a goose” – then nicked off to a motorbike crash in Mia Mia.

But not long after, who should roll into the Ampol servo behind the wheel? You guessed it – same red Commodore, same pair of silly duffers!

Now the car’s spending 30 days in the naughty corner, and the boys are probably wishing they’d just rung a mate and saved the drama.

Bit of early morning chaos out Axedale way yesterday. A truck went belly-up on the bend heading toward Heathcote. Axedale Fire Brigade and Bendigo Highway Patrol were on the scene quick smart, along with Ambos.

Lucky escape, too – old mate walked away without a scratch. But it’s a solid wake-up call about how things can go sideways real fast if you’re tired or not paying attention behind the wheel. Stay sharp out there, legends!

The Axedale Fire Brigade has been flat out lately – three call-outs in under 24 hours! First up, an out-of-control campfire. Then a false alarm at a registered burn-off that was actually all good. And just after 2am? Back to the original spot for some stubborn smouldering trees that kicked off again overnight! 🔥

Great work by the Axedale, Junortoun, and Knowsley Fire Brigades, who quickly controlled a car fire on McIvor Highway near Ingham Road, which had spread to nearby grass! 🔥

The grass fire was contained to about 50m by 100m. All occupants safely exited the vehicle, with no injuries reported. ☺️

Two male Eastern Brown Snakes have been spotted battling it out for a local female, known as ritual combat, in Eppalock! 🐍🐍

Check this out!

Two male Eastern Brown Snakes battling it out for a local female.

This is known as 'ritual combat'

Combat is often mistaken for mating however there are a couple of key differences in the body posture and behavior that tells us the difference.

The tightly intertwined bodies and the rearing of the heads (in order to dominate the opposing male) are two key things to look out for.

Thankyou to page follower Tim for sending this to me and giving me permission to share the photo.

This was taken in Eppalock.
