It’s hard to see in photos, but over a relatively short period of time, and on budget, the lawn has slowly become much more uniformed, thick and healthy. Levelled out over several mows with the added bonus of a rock-based mini prill fertiliser.

Currently being mowed on a regular basis at 20mm and fertiliser applications every 6 weeks.

First mow at the hotel, Prospect Villa in the centre of town since being top dressed with premium lawn mix sand a week prior. Now, full of nutrients and a red loamy base, this lawn is going to pop all growing season!

Apart from the top dress and a routine cylinder mow , it’s had its feed of:
- Eco Prime Emerald Mini Prill
- Biowett wetting agent
- A blend of liquid fertiliser

When I first visited this lawn, it had been laid unevenly, few gaps, and top dressed with what appears to be generic hardware store potting mix, full of bark and weeds.

Quick action plan! Hand weeded what weeds were showing, did a light height reset scalp down to 17mm with the heavy roller mower in multiple directions and applied premium mini prill fertaliser.

Going forward? Raising the height up to 19mm and mowing fortnightly, and possibly weekly in the summer time. Fertiliser every 6 weeks. Application of pre-emergent herbicides and eventually a plant growth regulator to get it growing laterally, instead of vertically. Will essentially establish superior root development.

A dash of humic acid, sprinkle of sports turf mini prill fertiliser, and drop of wetting agent and a drizzle of liquid iron, BAM! It’s already significantly improved. All it needs now is a top dress to even it out!
