Alex Turner made out of Rubik's Cubes! I'm making cube portraits of 20 different artists I've seen live in my 20s, so be sure to follow to see who I make next!

Can't believe it's already been a month since worlds 🤯 And of course it has taken me a whole month to actually put together a post for it.

Definitely not a great competition in terms of results - I had been practising 2x2 more than usual leading up to the competition (though I was still busy travelling so it still wasn't much practice compared to many others at the worlds) and I felt like I was seeing some real improvement. However, I wasn't competing well in the competitions leading up to worlds, and I just didn't perform well when it came to 2x2 round 1. I one-looked my first solve wrong and got a 5, and then after getting a 1.9 and 1.4, I one looked incorrectly again and got a 4 on solve 4, completely running the average. I needed a ~2.5 average to make second round but I got a 2.72. I knew it was always going to be very unlikely I made 2x2 finals, but admittedly I was pretty gutted to not even make round 2.

But of course, at this stage of my life I'm not going to worlds with any expectation of doing well - I'm there to have fun, catch up with old friends and meet new ones. And I think I definitely managed to do that, so worlds was a great experience as always. I realise that I didn't get as many photos with people this time but I guess I was just living in the moment 🤷

Anyway, looking forward to seeing everyone again in Sweden in 2027! 🥳🇸🇪
