Celebrating NAIDOC week!

It's been a while since we made this but we're very proud of it. Emma did the web design and oversaw the project, while Jarrod produced the videos. Every time a client asks us to make something for them, it's an honor; but it's especially an honour when it's a project like this.

This week (well , it's the tail-end, but you know what we mean!) we honour the rich culture, resilience, and creativity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A few years ago, we had the privilege of working with the Ballarat & District Aboriginal Co-op (BADAC) to create BADAC Stories — a beautiful website and video series sharing local voices, memories, and moments of pride.

From laughter to strength, each story is a window into community, family, and culture.

We’re proud to have played a small part in helping share these stories — and this NAIDOC Week, we invite you to explore them too.

Need a Black Friday sales strategy for your creative business? Use this super simple 5 step plan to nail it. 🥇

1. Brainstorm an irresistible offer - is it a discount, or is it a free gift with every purchase? Crunch the numbers to make sure you make a profit. And free shipping is a good idea!

2. Create your discount code by going into Squarespace and selecting Selling -> Discounts. Select the category or single product the sale applies to and how much of a discount, if it's % or $. Use the discount which sounds like the biggest discount. e.g. $100 off sounds better than 10% off, even though the discount may be the same price! Select the expiry date when the sale ends. I like to make it on day after the sale ends to give a little leeway. Make the sales code very simple like BLACKFRIDAY or BLACK50 Copy the sales coupon code for later so you can share it in your email/socials
3. Launch you promotion via your email list. Whether you're using Flodesk, Squarespace Campaigns or whatever, email your subscribers about your special Black Friday offer. Remember that they have subscribed to you in order to receive your special sales and launches - don't feel awkward send an email about your sales haha! 😁😆

4. Make a graphic in Canva that promotes your sale - showing the artwork/products and offer. Change colours to your brand colours. Post them via Facebook/Instagram Stories and Posts and whatever other social media you use - consider boosting with a small budget. Share them in groups if allowed. Need an easy sales graphic? Reply with CANVA and I'll send you a sales template you can use for FREE.

5. Repeat steps 3&4 a day before the sale ends- don't forget this! Create another email highlighting a different benefit/transformation they will experience buying your artwork, and create another graphic in Canva to post on social media. Most people don't make a move the first time they see something - so you need to remind them!

Ballarat Community Fest - Celebrating All Abilities was a huge effort to put together, but a very rewarding experience! The festival provided a space for people with a disability to celebrate, have fun, as well as connect with service providers who could help change their lives for the better.
