Silbert Records began life as a pipe dream in the head of young entrepreneur Joseph Marshall.

With a focussed interest in children's television soundtracks, there was no one better to take the reigns of a record label specialising in this kind of release.

Here's a little of what we've been up to at Silbert Records. Restoring and reconstructing the director's cut(s) of the 2000 Thomas the Tank Engine theatrical film: Thomas & the Magic Railroad.
Here is a teaser trailer we cut together - a special message from "Thomas" (John Bellis, Thomas' original voice in the film) recorded especially for our project - John reprised his role for the first time in 25 years.

Here's a little of what we've been up to at Silbert Records. Restoring and reconstructing the director's cut(s) of the 2000 Thomas the Tank Engine theatrical film: Thomas & the Magic Railroad. In the following clips you will hear a few examples of voice actors who were cut from the film including John Bellis (Thomas), Wayne Robson (James) and others including Michael Angelis who narrated the Thomas TV series as Splatter and Dodge.

There is so much more to come, including an earlier version with Australian animation voice artist Keith Scott as Diesel 10. Enjoy!

It is with a heavy heart we acknowledge the passing of John Pye, who created Ferry Boat Fred. Though he was not very well in his later years, it was an honour to meet him if only for a short time. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.

I only wish we could have finished the DVD in time for him to revisit Fred, but I can assure you that the project will be completed in his honour and memory, and we will let this show continue to live on in his legacy.

I can't believe I have to say this but do not post Ferry Boat Fred to YouTube or Archive or what have you - we will have them taken down.

The official youtube channel and DVD are almost ready so by doing this you are taking away income from the creators. So let's not. Thanks.

VALE Britt Allcroft (1943-2024) - Producer and Creator of "Thomas the Tank Engine", "Shining Time Station" and "Magic Adventures of Mumfie" TV series.
It is very hard to formulate words for this one, but Britt Allcroft was one of the most influential children's TV producers and thus has obviously had a big impact on mine, and so many others' lives. Very very sad, rest in peace. We are very grateful for Britt co-operating with us when we released some of the "Shining Time Station" albums.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone at Silbert Records!

We are late, thanks to Fred's captain falling asleep AGAIN but better late than never.

The Fred DVD progress is coming along well, our newest update is pretty big - thanks to NFSA - National Film and Sound Archive of Australia for working with us to get hold of the 1989 Ferry Boat Fred pilot -- which has never been seen by the public before -- for our DVD release.

There will be a few other bonus features but you'll have to wait for the release!

Hooray! We made it to number 15 on the iTunes children's music charts today. Lift-Off is still clearly loved which makes us very happy. I wonder if this is a subtle nudge from the universe to finish the complete song collection album...

Here's Fred, Kate, Pete, the captain and a seagull with the very copy of the second Fred video that started all this - given to my brother and I by a friend of mum's, long after the show had stopped airing.

Without it, we may never have seen the show and I doubt we'd be at the stage of a DVD release. It's so surreal to me that this is happening all because of this very copy of this video.
