This week gave us a long enough break in the weather that we were able to to enjoy a friendly lunchtime game of soccer.

The clock is ticking down to the US release of STING!

Sting is a thrilling horror movie written and directed by Kiah Roache-Turner that's just about to be set loose in cinemas in the US (April 12th). The film teams digital spider animation and environment work by Cumulus Visual Effects with practical spider effects by Wētã.

We've loved working with Director Kiah Roche-Turner previously on Nekrotronic (2018) and he had this to say about our work on Sting: "these legends are truly gods of the pixel and are among the very best at what they do in the world." A lot of hard work and spider-study went into this one and we're proud of the seamless, ‘invisible’ results. See it in cinemas for full effect!!

Cumulus VFX has undergone an exciting expansion.

We recently opened a studio in the Wotso Workspace on the Gold Coast. Bringing in local industry heavy-hitters and relocating some of our favourite (highly talented) artists from our Ballina studio shows our commitment to building a strong, Queensland-based crew.

A number of our team were clever enough to get in early and book tickets to tonight's screening of Luku Ngarra: The Law of the Land and launch of the Truth Telling Together movement at the Byron Community Centre. Combining film, music, story telling and spoken word, it's very cool to see these arts events that pop up around the shire!
