Following the threads of producers and musicians before piecing it all back together in a tangible way. Some classic tracks on show here, along with some more obscure and rarer finds. Jai Anderson aka came past the store to share some selections ahead of his instore with us this Friday. Quite the bag we must say! Late 60’s Soul-Jazz, Trip-Hop, Acid tinged downtempo and a beautiful techno record that first caught his ear played on the wrong speed. We love that stuff.

Maurice Fulton is set to play in Byron Bay’s premier music room - the maverick producer and dj from Baltimore, USA has been djing since the early 80’s making a name for himself worldwide for his unique style blending off-kilter house, arty disco and dance punk.

His label Bubble T’s Communication has had steady output since the early 2000’ recently releasing NY house music luminaries .nyc - Fulton’ sets span Paradise Garage and Loft classics, Italo obscurities and machine driven soul.

Setting the tone for the evening will be Zac Stars bringing a bag of deep groove followed by Northern Rivers creative free spirit Dingo Balearico.

Flo Records Instore #003

We are back with our last instore for the year! We have loved opening the shop up late once a month and getting around our community. Thanks so much to those that have joined us thus far and .address.systems for our immaculate sound system.

For our third round we have called upon 2 unique and quite varied selectors. This one is set to traverse some serious ground as we drift in and out of genres and tempos. We can’t wait to hear what these guys play!

is an artist whose sound is deep, hypnotic and always fresh. Selecting from a very wide range of genres; we feel like nothing is off limits from him. Sultry, bouncing and always tipping on the emotional side whether that be curl up in a ball or big bear hugs. 2 hours of very thoughtfully curated tunes from Jai is going to be a special trip.

Joe is the better half of NR disco bad boys - known around these parts for his old-school Chicago inspired EQ work and absolutely elite Schuhplattler (Traditional Austrian folk dancing). He’s main influences ride on that pre-digital 82’ disco/boogie sound and Deep House from seminal labels like Sacred Rhythm Music and BPM King Street Sounds.

As always free and BYO - the shop and courtyard will be open to those who wish to dig, dance and hang out.

is an Amsterdam-based independent record label known for reissuing obscure and overlooked music, particularly from the 1980s and 90s, recently expanding their catalogue to include like-minded contemporary artists.

The label primarily focuses on releasing compilations of music made by artists whose work has a timeless quality: musicians who’s work somehow contain elements of what is happening and is relevant in electronic or dance music today.

Music From Memory recently celebrated their 50th release with a special reissue of  Virtual Dreams: Ambient Explorations In The House & Techno Age, 1993-1997. Virtual Dreams delves into music produced that redefined the boundaries of ‘Ambient’. Often created by House and Techno producers with the pre and post-clubbing listener in mind. Tip!

Leonardo Palazzi aka from the crew dropped into the shop last week to chat through their debut festival going down this weekend.

Tucked away less than an hour south of Byron, the team are bringing 32 hours of non-stop music across multiple stages, stacked with wild internationals and some of Australia’s finest doof talent.

Flo Records will be curating the VIP / OAP Bazaar Stage — loaded with the Shire’s hottest selectors.
It’s going to be a big one.
