A small, cosy family-run restaurant next to Meadowbank Station.

There are a variety of pizza categories, including Traditional, Gourmet, and Seafood.

Most noticeable is the pizza bar and a large oven. I saw them make our pizzas from scratch, manipulating the dough and adding toppings onto it. I liked the thickness, enough to hold the layer of toppings and provide a substantial, tasty chew but not too thick.

The Family sized pizza is their largest. It should be enough to feed you for 2 (or even 3) meals 😆 At $27.00 for their "Pulled Pork" type, I thought it was good value.

On Monday 30th October, we were delighted to attend the 16th edition of the "Chef's Chat" by Washoku Lovers. The purpose of each Chef's Chat is for all attendees, including guest chefs, to chat about Japanese cuisine in Australia.

The event was hosted at Culinary Studio Dekura, a place for Japanese cooking classes run by renowned author and chef, Hideo Dekura.

Yuri Tazunoki, of Washoku Lovers, facilitated the event with her signature smile and exemplary hosting skills.

All attendees, many of whom were Japanese chefs, were made to feel welcome. It was an environment where people chatted, exchanged ideas, and united in curiosity for Japanese cuisine.

Chef's Chat #16 focussed on the theme of "Inclusive Dining", where recipes catered for people of different dietary preferences. The possibilities of Japanese cuisine were explored through dishes that were gluten-free, vegan, and halal.

The team of guest chefs, led by Ryota Kumasaka (of Shinmachi and Uchi Lounge fame), Gabriel D'Agostini (head chef at TenTo), Takashi Ouchi and Takumi Kawano, shared their insights on washoku (Japanese food). We were impressed by their innovative recipes, as highlighted by a "fake tuna" that was in fact made of marinated watermelon!
