I’VE FINALLY LOST MY VIRGINITY!!

Now that I’ve got your attention..
Thursday last week I received a call to play Greenwood Hotel (for the 1st time ever!!!) and I’m like hell funkin’ yeah dudes! I mean, I’m so sorry your current DJ is ill but I’m so in! 🤙
I was also to be joined for a few hours by a (very talented) saxophonist .rexmcgirr who absolutely smashed it!!! 🎷 🎷 🎷 🎷
We shared some great moments and I dare say we’ll be sharing more down the track..
(Not just because after a particular mix from Moondance to Pony, he called me a genius! 😝)

The last minute call up to play on the Friday was for a company mid year party - just a lazy 900 guests spread throughout the venue. The last time I can remember playing to that many punters would’ve been when we had Roots Manuva rock it at the Custard Factory in Birmingham for Heducation in 05’/06’ with Miles Hedz 😮 🤩

For 20+ years I’ve wanted to crank some tunes in this beautiful courtyard and safe to say it did not disappoint!
The sound system was warm & cosy and deep & lush af!
The guests were mostly appreciative - never easy to please everyone’s tastes (especially with this many people at a work doo) but I always give it a damn good crack!
The staff were so so lovely.
Security were a great bunch.
Vibes were high!

Another fun filled fully packed weekend of gigs, only this weekend’s mode of transport was this bad ass whip! (Yet to be named..)
So fun 🤩

Arriving to work, without the sweat of full peddle power & also able to comfortably carry the weight of my pack is a dream come true. Even managed to carry a *monitor speaker on the back for Saturday’s gig.

If I can work out a way to safely get Rhubarb’s seat on the back - I’m going all in.

A lot of people are suprised when I mention that I play hockey 🏑 or am still playing hockey.

Last weekend along with my regular 3 gig working weekend, I also joined a great bunch of dudes in their team playing for Far North Coast in the State Championships. Yep, just a lazy 6 games in 3 days - actually 5 games for me as I had to rock a wedding for the amazing 🤘

Then back to it Sunday morning for the semi final (win) followed by a hard fought final vs Sydney.
A very busy weekend that’s for sure!
But all sooooo worth it!
