Thank you for your support!

Today is the last day of the national 'Our News, Your Voice' campaign to support independent publishers across Australia.

You can donate until midnight tonight through this link: https://beaudesertbulletin.presspatron.com/

Choose a one-off donation or a regular monthly contribution, even the cost of a cup of coffee each month helps to support your local newspaper.

Every cent donated goes towards sustaining a local news service for Beaudesert and the surrounding areas.

Apart from the financial support, for which I am very grateful, it has also been heartening to see the support the community has for their local newspaper.

What can you do in the future?

If you want to continue to support your local paper, these are a few things you can do to help:

- If you use a local business because you have seen their ad in the paper, or have looked them up on our online business directory - tell them their ad works!
- Like and follow us on our social media channels, and share our posts.
- Keep in touch with news tips and article ideas - we are your voice so it is important for us to stay connected with the community.

We will keep the donation platform open in the future and are planning some events which will help to strengthen our ties with our community - watch this space!

It was actually quite emotional for me to see donations come in. It is probably a different and rather awkward idea for a business, but given that we produce a free paper with no paywall on our website, I guess it is a pivot that has to be made, and important to note that news organisations across Australia are also doing this.

To everyone who has donated, shared our posts, mentioned advertising to local businesses - thank you so much, it really means a lot to me and to our team.

With gratitude,

Keer

What would Beaudesert look like without the Beaudesert Bulletin?

For the past seven years, we have been sharing stories, supporting businesses and keeping this community informed and connected.

This week, we’re part of the “Our News. Your Voice” campaign by LINA - Local & Independent News Association which is a national week to support independent local news.

What can you do to help? Go to the support portal - https://beaudesertbulletin.presspatron.com/

🙌 Even $5 makes a difference - make a one-off donation or become a regular supporter 🙌

Where your support goes:
💲 Paying local staff
💲 Keeping the website running
💲 Helping us keep delivering free local news, every day
💲 Most of our costs go directly into local people doing local work.

If you’ve ever read the Beaudesert Bulletin — this is the week to chip in.

Today is World Press Day, a day that celebrates the principles of press freedom, something that is very important to our team.

We have been privileged to be the voice of the Beaudesert community since July 2020, when the Beaudesert Bulletin published the very first edition.

Since then, we have published stories on a diverse range of topics:

- we created the 'Save our CBD' campaign during the Beaudesert Town Centre Revitalisation project, partnering with council and other local media to help local businesses.

- we provide coverage to community organisations to promote them in the community

- we celebrate local people and their achievements.

- we investigate and hold government to account in relation to issues that affect our community.

Our reporting has an impact.

We believe free access to information is vital.

As a result, our reporting is open access and not hidden behind a paywall.

Your donation not only supports our work, but supports access for those unable to contribute themselves.

If you would like to support your local newspaper, please do so via this link:

Thank you all for your support, in whatever form it takes.
