Southeast Storm Media

Southeast Storm Media Severe Thunderstorm & Weather Photography Southeast Storm Media is a page dedicated to photographing and documenting severe weather, primarily thunderstorms.

All footage posted here will be my own. Live storm chase streams will also be done here and on the page. Most storm chases will be happening in Southeast Queensland, where I live. However, if I believe the conditions are good enough for severe storms, I may travel further to areas such as the Darling Downs, North Coast or NENSW. I currently roll with a Canon 1500D.

Just a heads up for some of you early-risers today, all of that rain has caused some riverine systems to rise again.

Some flooding is likely around and take care whilst driving.

Light to moderate showers and embedded storms are moving southeast across parts of SEQLD.

Though no severe weather is expected, some areas may experience minor flooding.

Tomorrow we will see some very strong sustained winds and gusts as a result of the low-pressure system off the coast of NSW.

Sustained winds could be around 25-30 km/h with gusts as high as 60-70km/h possible across the Southeast and Toowoomba/Darling Downs.

Some locations (particularly those in higher elevations) may see wind gusts in excess of 100 km/h.

Eyes in the sky this week if you're looking to catch a glimpse of a rare spectacle ☄️

☄️ Heads up, skywatchers! ☄️
The Eta Aquarid meteor shower is peaking this week — with the best viewing happening in the early morning hours before dawn. This shower is known for its fast, bright meteors that come from Halley’s Comet.

Peak viewing: Around May 6–7, just before sunrise.
Best seen from: The Southern Hemisphere, but folks in the north can still catch a few shooting stars.
