The Summer seedlings are taking over our tiny home and we are not upset by it!

Everything is growing great, and I am learning a lot about the patience involved with raising seedlings.

I am so excited to watch as the weather warms up and everything springs to life so I can get these beauties outside soon!

Whats growing?
💚 Basil
💚 So many tomato varieties
💚 Eggplants
💚 Chillies
💚 Zinnias
💚 Scabiosas
💚 Sunflowers
💚 Rockmelons

And I just sowed my zucchinis and watermelons where the marigolds did not germinate.

My plan is to start hardening off the older tomato planta in a couple of weeks and start planting out at the end of September, maybe earlier. We will see what the weather is doing!

Gardening in winter is always so much better. Sure things don't grow with the vigour of Summer, but theres just so much more time and energy for all the other things.

This winter we have been tackling so many projects, including a new spot for our home to celebrate 1 year on this bloody beautiful spot.

They say you need a year of observation to get to know your land and we couldnt agree more. Thats the beauty in a mobile home, if we think the spot we picked isn't right it's simple enough to just move the bus... or is it?

HUGE DAY FOR OUR FAMILY!

Water security on our little off-grid bus is here.

There have been a few hurdles and lots more waiting than we would've liked, but finally we are here.

The IBCs will be used for gardens and the animals, while this big girl serves our home while its here.

Surprisingly easier to move I hear than it looks.

Now to tap her, fill her up and work towards some catchment as we don't want to rely on town water if we don't have to!

Baby steps, but steps forward!

First Garden Harvest!

This variety of zucchini is so prolific and delish, it was given to me by our friend - Katie and I have not gone back since!

Cucumbers are still well and truly giving.

Its amazing how I was skeptical of what would survive since I planted so late in the season. But it shows that you just need to keep planting! Summer keeps on giving.

Getting back into gardening has meant so much.

For the last 2 years we have either been traveling, in part-time 'home' locations or just busy adjusting to being new parents.

And a huge part of my identity has been missing.

Our food bills were higher as we refused to lose out on quality and abundance.

And our fitness suffered too.

But this last month new hope has returned and with the kindness and generosity of many friends and our community we have slowly been building our gardens and food security once more.

Post-partum, my body is definitely easing into the work again. But man it has never felt better to dig dirt or plant seeds. Because I am doing it for all 3 of us now.

Also shout out to the new mower and garden cart!
Gardening is so much more fun and efficient! I love it.
