I've just moved from The Kimberley in WA to Adelaide for a new role.

My recent experiene in Indigenous broadcasting drew the interest of our local indigenous program here in Adelaide. I joined Kel recently on The Feel Good Nunga program. You can listen to our chat here.

Sadly for some reason the play button seams to be black against a black background. If you click your mouse on the far left hand side of the audio file it should start playing

Some of you may not be aware but I recently packed my life up and moved across the country to take up a new role in Adelaide. After two years in Fitzroy Crossing, in the Kimberley, I’ve take…

James and Libby are a young couple on a big adventure around Australia by pushbike. They pulled in to Fitzroy Crossing earlier this week, I sat down with them to find out what they were up to

This week on The we’re talking hand made guitars. Two local Bega lads at 3DGT Guitars are printing electric guitar bodies using a 3D printer. This unique operation is one of only a few in the world building good quality instruments on printed bodies.

This week Graham Farram and I wandered over to Glebe Park Lagoon. The Bat colony that Hugh Pitty told us about a few weeks ago has well and truely arrived so we thought we’d take the opportun…

This week on The Graham Farram is joined by Brian Smith. Brian is a local personality about town, you'll see him wander down the street, he looks like your quintessential country bloke wearing riding boots, bootleg jeans, a big belt buckle and a 10 gallon hat. He tells Graham a collection of stories about his life on the land.

This week I hand the reigns back to Graham Farram, as I did in episode 16. Over the last few months Graham has been looking through ‘Picturesque Travel, Bairnsdale to Bega’ by W Stanley…

In this weeks episode of my podcast, The , Graham Farram was reading Australian poems. After we published the episode Graham returned to me having found an absolute treasure that is perfect for the end of This years Week.

NAIDOC or National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee week is usually observed in July but, due to the impact of Covid, was moved this year to November.

Graham is an indigenous man who is a recognised guest on Yuin country, accepted by the locals.

In this weeks episode of my podcast The Local Update Graham Farram was reading Australian poems. After we published the episode Graham returned to me having found an absolute treasure that is perfe…

This week on The it's all about community spirit. Two years after the Tathra fires David Winkworth started a community mailing list in Kalaru. Winkworth says the newsletter started in the interest of getting fire information out to locals and perhaps working bees to help some people get their places into a safer state. 12 months on the newsletter has morphed and grown into a community paper of sorts looking at local stories and issues that matter.

This week on The Local Update Graham explores a collection of Australian poems. Black Ink publishers have been producing collections of ‘The Best Australian Poetry’ annually for about a…

This week on The we recognise the life of Arthur Clifford Evershed, one of Dr Evershed's children. With Remembrance day around the corner and covid restrictions playing havoc on any ceremonies it was nice to learn that Robyn Evershed the Great, Great Granddaughter of Dr Evershed was visiting Bega this week to donate some war medals to the Bega Pioneers Museum.

This episode is recorded in the foyer of Bega Pioneers museum as the hand over ceremony was taking place.

We’ve spoken previously on The Local Update about the important role Dr Evershed played in the history of the Bega Valley. With Remembrance day around the corner and covid restrictions playin…

Creating local stories for the Bega Valley

Indi Media was developed in 2008 as a space for me to publish content I produced after I finished uni. My current project is a local podcast looking at issues and events taking place around the Bega Valley.
