🚧 Start of Work: Mylestom Tidal Pool 🚧

Construction started on the Mylestom Tidal Pool Upgrade earlier this week.

👷‍♂️ In the next few weeks, you can expect to see installation of five new piles to replace piles that were previously damaged. We will also be completing the demolition of the existing decking, removal of the existing shark net and cleaning the debris in the pool.

Scheduling of works

The project was originally scheduled for delivery this winter, but the March and May weather events postponed the works and caused extra damage, resulting in a revised scope to include structural improvements.

The project is funded through:

Crown Reserves Improvement Fund (CRIF)

Boating Infrastructure Emergency Repair Pool (BIERP) Program

Both grants require the project to be completed by April 2026, which has also determined the revised timeline.

We understand this timing is inconvenient and apologise for the impact this may have on residents and visitors.

Council is working hard to ensure the tidal pool is ready by the start of the summer holiday period ☀️ (weather and ground conditions permitting).

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these important upgrades.
