This was the response to the VERY first round of content I sent this client. 👏

Before we started working together, there was nothing on Instagram and his Facebook presence was relatively new.

So we weren’t tweaking an existing strategy. We were pretty much starting from scratch.

I didn’t want to just fill his feed with posts so it looked active. I built a content mix designed to actually position the business:

➡️ Educational content that demonstrates his knowledge and expertise.
➡️ Promotional content that makes it clear what he does and how he can help.
➡️ Community-focused content that builds familiarity and connection with the people he wants to reach.

I’ve been working with Trent from Red Cedar Constructions for two years now, and in that time I’ve completely transformed the way he shows up on social media.

I’ve shifted the focus to making Trent more visible as the expert behind the business showcasing his knowledge, experience and authority in the Passive House space.

Through more educational content and a much stronger focus on video, I’m not only helping more people understand Passive Houses, but also getting Trent and his expertise in front of new audiences.

His socials now do a much better job of showing people exactly why he knows his stuff.

On Thursday night I popped my silent disco cherry! I had never experienced one before and I did it at the BNI Growth summit!

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE a dance and I LOVE a sing. Give me a good song and normally I’m there. 😂

Unfortunately, a niggling knee and ankle injury meant I didn’t quite make it onto the dance floor this time… but the silent disco was still such a cool experience.

There’s something pretty hilarious about watching a room full of people dancing and singing their hearts out to completely different songs depending on which channel they’re listening to.

But it was also a little reminder: Trying new things is fun.

Whether it’s in business, networking or life, sometimes you just need to say yes to something you’ve never done before and see what happens.

If you think social media is about likes, you’re missing the point.

It’s about staying visible long enough for people to:
See you → recognise you → trust you → think of you when they need you.

The thing with social media is that it’s not about every post needs to go viral, or getting hundreds of likes nor is it about your feed looking beautifully aesthetic.

You just need to keep showing up.
Because visibility builds familiarity, and familiarity builds trust. 💗

I’ve spent just over a week in Melbourne, and it’s been one of those trips where every day has looked completely different.

I’ve caught up with clients, attended four networking events, attended the ASTMA Conference, explored new opportunities, and somehow still managed to squeeze in plenty more.

The funny thing is… Melbourne has always had a special place in my heart. ❤️

Back in my corporate marketing days, I travelled here regularly when I was responsible for national marketing. As a ridiculously passionate Swans supporter, I’ve made countless trips down for games (including a Grand Final), and over the years we’ve also spent plenty of family holidays here.

Every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The atmosphere, the laneways, the sport, the people, the energy… it just has something about it.

I’ve worked with this business owner for quite a while now.

I’ve watched the business evolve.
I’ve watched the team grow.
I’ve watched the consistency, the commitment, and the willingness to keep investing in doing things properly.

Most business owners would look at that number and ask:

“Yeah, but how many sales did it make?”

Here’s what I see.

Over the last 90 days, the content for my client was viewed 24,878 times, reached 3,630 people and generated 434 profile visits.

That means 434 people were curious enough to stop scrolling and check out the business.

This is exactly why I don’t just look at likes when I’m planning content.

I look at:
✔️ Reach
✔️ Non-follower views
✔️ Profile visits
✔️ Website clicks
✔️ What content created curiosity

Because social media isn’t always about getting an instant sale, it’s about being seen often enough that when someone needs your service, they remember your name.

Three seasons ago, at my ripe old age and after two kids I finally took the plunge and signed up to play netball again. I hadn’t played netball in like 10+ years even though I’d played it for years as a kid.

Last night, I stood there with my team holding the winners sign celebrating with a glass of ch*****ne in a plastic cup.

Was I nervous when I first came back after my Achilles injury? Yep. Did I wonder if I’d still be able to keep up? Definitely.

But here’s the thing. For years, I said I wanted to play netball again.

I talked about it.
I thought about it.
I watched others do it.

But nothing changed until I actually took action and that’s exactly what I see with social media.

Business owners tell me all the time:

👉 “I know I should outsource my socials.”
👉 “I know I need a strategy.”
👉 “I know I need to be more consistent.”

But wanting something and doing something are two very different things.

Here is part of a basic report that I gave my client today based on a thirty day report.

The difference isn’t just in the numbers. It’s in the strategy behind them which is what I pride myself on.

When this client came to me, they already had social media and it was relatively consistent but his comment to me was that “it wasn’t getting him leads or anything”.

Anyone can create a post, but the real value comes from having a strategy and vision that turns social media into a tool for visibility, trust, and future leads.

Because when people see you consistently, they remember you when they’re ready to buy.
