What's On Your Radio

What's On Your Radio This show aims to promote the music of original artists performing in and around Bendigo and surrounds. Tune in to hear songs and bands I love. Music. Records.

"To Bring You My Love"...yup, a classic PJ Harvey album and song, but also the title of a Main FM radio show presented by me, DJ Mik Ruin. I'll have guests that I love, playing music they love. I'll play vinyl as much as possible, cos who doesn't love record crackle and full sized album art? Love. What more could you want on a Wednesday night? Let's you and I make a weekly date from 7-8pm. Lovely!

The Living End at the Botanical Gardens in Melbourne last night. A set of new songs and hits, followed by the debut album in its entirety. An encore of “White Noise” and fan favourite, “Uncle Harry” to cap it all off. It rained for most of their time on stage but that didn’t dampen the vibe in the crowd nor the band. One of this country’s greatest bands whom I’ve seen on every tour since album number two.

Tonight I was to talk to Toody Cole, of Dead Moon, who plays the Theatre Royal this Saturday with her band. In spite of effort... 41 emails, Toody's driver's lost phone and the station phones going down while my show was on, it didn't happen. Buggar! Anyway, the show must go on and it did. I played....

This Thursday on Phoenix FM 106.7 MHz I chat with Toody Cole, founding member of the legendary US band, Dead Moon. Toody is doing a mere four shows in Australia and all of them in Victoria, with one of those being at the Theatre Royal in Castlemaine this coming Saturday. The other founding members of Dead Moon are no longer with us, so Toody has recruited Kelly and Christopher from fellow US band, Jenny Don't And The Spurs who played at the Town Folk Festival this weekend. Join me from 5pm for what promises to be a compelling chat with one of music's longest serving masters.

On today's show I chatted with Tones, drummer for Victorian Surfcoast band, All Hope Remains. The band play melodic skate punk and hit some big issues in their lyrics. They're a ball of energy on stage and will close out the final installment of Gold Rock, an annual festival on independent music curated by Bendigo's own, Shann Lions. This is also the final Gold Rock and it will be held, for the first time, at the Golden Vine Hotel. Shann pops in at the end of the show to tell us more about Gold Rock. Of course, there's the usual gig guide as well.

On today’s show I chat with Victorian Surfcoast based band, All Hope Remains. The band refer to themselves as a “high-energy trio”, that play “fast melodic skate punk”. They have two EPs and two albums to their credit, including 2024s “Find My Way”, which is distributed in Australia, t...
