🎉 Happy Birthday to an Aussie music legend — Daryl Braithwaite! 🎉
Today we celebrate one of the true icons of Australian music, born 11 January 1949. From fronting Sherbet with classics like Howzat to gifting the nation the timeless anthem The Horses, Daryl’s voice has been part of our soundtrack for decades.
Whether it’s a pub, a festival, a backyard BBQ or a packed stadium, the moment those opening notes of The Horses hit, the whole country sings along. That’s the magic of Daryl — pure joy, pure nostalgia, pure Australia.
🎂 Happy Birthday, Daryl!
Thanks for the memories, the music, and the moments we’ll never forget.
Drop your favourite Daryl Braithwaite song or memory in the comments and let’s celebrate this legend properly. 🐎✨

A statewide Total Fire Ban has been declared for Victoria today, Sunday, 11 January 2026.

A High Fire Danger Rating is forecast for the Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central and North East districts.

Firefighters continue to battle 32 active fires across the state.

So far, more than 350,000 hectares of land has burned.

14 Emergency Warnings remain in place for communities at risk from significant fires in Walwa in the far north east, the Otways in the south west and Longwood in central Victoria.

Many parks and state forests are closed due to ongoing fire activity. Holiday-makers are advised to consider postponing travel to areas with active fire and smoke impact. To check park closures that may affect you, visit: www.parks.vic.gov.au/coc-listing

NOW, on SANDY KAYE PRESENTS: A BREATH OF FRESH AIR.

He’s one of rock’s most recognisable musicians. Graham Nash been making music for more than 60 years, first with English band The Hollies then as Crosby Stills and Nash and later when Neil Young joined them, as CSNY. At 80 years young, Graham Nash has just recently released a new solo album. It’s a live record that spans 20 tracks that was recorded over the course of four shows he’d booked prior to the pandemic. During our chat Graham tells us why CSNY can no longer make music together since losing their connection, where he stands on life and society in general and about his passion for photography and the release of his new photographic book called Life in Focus.
