Two years ago, we stepped into one of the most uncertain seasons of our lives.

We had a possible opportunity in Australia, so we did the three things we believed God was asking us to do:

• Sell and give away what we couldn't take with us
• Resign from my husband's job
• Give notice on our home

Then, one week before his final day at work, the Australian company told us the process had been put on ice due to budget constraints.

We had already sold our car that same morning. We had already made our plans, and suddenly, the future seemed to disappear.

For part of that day, we sat in shock.
Then, the Holy Spirit reminded us that our obedience was never supposed to be based on a company, a contract, or a guaranteed outcome.
It was based on trusting God.

So we got on the plane to China anyway. 🛫
A few days later, my husband received a new job offer! I know right!!

Today, when I look back, I can see that what felt like a closed door was actually God directing our steps.

If you're in a season where things seem to be falling apart, remember this:
God's faithfulness is not dependent on your ability to see the whole plan.

Trust the instruction. Trust the process. Trust Him.

After 10 years of building a successful photography business… I didn’t expect to be here again.

Starting over has a way of stripping everything back.
Not just your systems or your brand, but your pride, your certainty, your version of “how it should look by now.”

It humbles you in a way that success never does. But it also reshapes you.

As a South-African in Australia, there’s something about rebuilding in a new country that deepens that process even more. You carry where you’ve come from, while learning to grow roots where you are now. It’s both beautiful and stretching at the same time.

And for me, that foundation has had to go deeper than strategy or business plans. It’s been anchored in my faith. When things shift, you realise quickly what was built on effort and what is actually held by grace.

This time I’m not just rebuilding a business.
I’m building something stronger.
More aligned. More sustainable. More intentional.

A LEGACY - not just a livelihood.

And even though it feels like a reset, it’s actually a refinement.

If you’re in a season where things feel like they’re being rebuilt, you’re not behind.

You’re being shaped.

There’s something so special about those first few days with a newborn baby 🌿
The slow mornings, tiny stretches, sleepy cuddles, and the feeling that the whole world suddenly got softer. 🤍

This sweet boy is already so deeply loved.
And as fellow South Africans raising families far from home, sessions like this always feel extra meaningful to me. There’s something beautiful about building a new life in a new country, and then welcoming a little life into it too.

These aren’t just photos. They’re the beginning of a story. The kind of moments you don’t realise you’ll miss until they’re gone.

So grateful I got to capture this season for such a beautiful family.

Thanks for such an amazing morning, you have all been amazing and I pray that you'll have a stunning time with the whole family!

To the woman who feels disconnected from herself right now…
This is your reminder that this season is not the end of your story 🤍

You will find yourself again.
Not the version shaped by pressure, survival, burnout, or people pleasing, but the woman God created you to be.

The woman with softness and strength.
With purpose, boundaries, peace, and joy.

Jesus still sees you, even in the moments where you feel overlooked, exhausted, or unsure of who you are becoming. He will meet you there. He will pick you up gently, restore what feels lost, and remind you that your worth was never based on how much you sacrifice to keep everyone else comfortable.

There is a difference between serving people with love and losing yourself trying to please everyone.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to heal.
You are allowed to take up space.

And one day, you’ll look back and realize this season wasn’t breaking you… it was rebuilding you.

Life may have felt heavy, but your confidence, your calling, and your voice are not gone.
They are still within you.
And this season may be the beginning of finding your way back to her.

Today, I publicly declared my faith in Jesus Christ.
This moment is years in the making 🤍🤍🌿🌿💧💧

I am still in awe of how amazing special today was and that I got to share if with pretty extraordinary people in our lives.

I was raised in a Christian home and have known about God for most of my life, but over the years I have come to know Him more personally and deeply.

Through every season, joy, uncertainty, moving countries, motherhood, and rebuilding, God has remained faithful.

His grace has carried me. His love has pursued me. His mercy has renewed me.
Baptism does not make me perfect. It is a public declaration that I belong to Jesus and that I choose to follow Him.

All my life, He has been so, so good 🤍✝️

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Part 2: The reveal

There is something deeply satisfying about putting everything back in its place.

Not because life is suddenly perfect, but because one small act of order can help calm the chaos.
As a wife, mama, immigrant, and woman rebuilding life in a new country, I’ve learned that transformation rarely happens all at once. It happens in the quiet moments.
One drawer. One shelf. One prayer. One step forward.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, this is your reminder that you do not need to fix everything today.
Start with what is in front of you.
Tidy the pantry. Answer the email. Take the walk. Pray the prayer. Trust God with the rest.

Small steps, done consistently, create a life of peace, purpose, and possibility.

To every woman building a new life far from home: you are doing better than you think.

There are some sessions that leave your heart so full. 🤍 And THIS was one of them 🧡🧡🧡🧡

This beautiful family met me among the stunning Liquid Amber trees in Heathcote. A dream location!

They brought along their gorgeous dogs, we shared plenty of laughs, and together we captured the kind of moments that matter most, the cuddles, the smiles, and the little in-between moments that tell your family’s story so beautifully.

Looking through these photos fills me with so much joy and gratitude towards Jesus. For gifting me this again!

This is why I love photography so much. It’s not just about taking pretty pictures. It’s about creating memories together and preserving this season of YOUR life so you can look back on it for years to come.

Sessions like this remind me how grateful I am to do what I love and to serve families in such a meaningful way.
