🏡 BENDOC HOTEL UPDATE 🏡

The Bendoc Hotel is getting a much-needed uplift over the next few weeks, with renovations kicking off in both the kitchen and accommodation areas.

The hotel and Post Office will remain open as usual, however our kitchen will be closed during the renovation period while the works are underway.

Jon and Caroline will also be taking a little break while the big jobs are happening, so please be patient with the crew holding the fort — and with the dust, noise, and general renovation chaos that comes with making things better. 😅

The good news is, the bar is still open — so pop in, say g’day, have a look at some of the new changes we’ve already made, and keep us company while the place gets its glow-up.

We’re excited for what’s coming and can’t wait to show you the finished result.

🦘🐴 RIGHTO BENDOC… WE’VE GOT A GRAND FINAL ON OUR HANDS! 🎯🍻

Last week the Brumby Throwers sent the Bush Chooks back to the coop with a few ruffled feathers… and now they’re strutting into the big one. 🐔💨

But standing in their way are the Roo Wranglers — and rumour has it they’re ready to rope in a few wild brumbies before the night is done. 🦘

So the question is…

Can the Roo Wranglers knock off the Brumby Throwers?
Or will the Brumbys gallop away with the Bendoc darts glory?

Come down this Thursday night for the darts grand final, good tucka, cold beer, raffles and plenty of good-hearted local banter.

Another big milestone for the Blue & Gold this weekend. 💙💛

Congratulations to Bailey “Baz” on chalking up 100 games for the Bombala Blue Heelers.

Reaching 100 senior games in country rugby league takes plenty of grit, heart and commitment — and Baz has well and truly earned the respect that comes with it.

A great achievement mate. Enjoy the moment, and here’s hoping the Heelers keep building towards a strong finals run. 🍻

Reaching 100 games is a milestone that reflects commitment, toughness, loyalty, and passion for the club, and this weekend Bailey proudly achieves that milestone with the Bombala Blue Heelers.

Since pulling on a Heelers jumper, Baz has become a respected and valued part of the club, both on and off the field. Through hard-fought wins, tough losses, and countless training sessions, he has consistently shown dedication to his teammates and the Bombala community.

Playing 100 senior games is no easy feat, especially in country rugby league. It takes determination, resilience, and a genuine love for the game. Baz has shown all of these qualities, earning the respect of teammates, coaches, supporters, and opponents alike.

Congratulations, Bailey, on reaching your 100th game milestone. Thank you for everything you do for this club, both on and off the field. It’s an achievement to be extremely proud of and one that will be remembered as a special moment in our club’s history.

Huge congratulations to local legend Luke on reaching 100 games for the Bombala Blue Heelers. 💙💛

That’s a massive achievement and a true show of toughness, loyalty and commitment to country footy.

We’re always proud to support the Blue Heelers and love seeing local lads hit milestones like this.

Well done mate — hopefully we see the Heelers charging into finals. 🍻

100 games in the Blue & Gold is more than just a number it’s a sign of toughness and commitment to the club.

Luke has been the kind of player every club values. Week after week, he has pulled on the Blue Heelers jersey with pride, always willing to put his body on the line for his teammates and give everything for the club. Through the highs and the tough seasons, his dedication has never wavered.

Not only has Luke been a leader on the field, but he has also stepped into a coaching role during his time at the club. His knowledge, encouragement and passion for the game have made a lasting impact both on and off the paddock.

Off the field, Luke represents everything great about country footy — community, mateship and loyalty.

Congratulations Luke on reaching 100 games for the Bombala Blue Heelers. A massive achievement and one the whole club is incredibly proud to celebrate. 💛💙

🍲 Community Lunch at Bendoc Neighborhood House 🍲

The Bendoc Neighbourhood House is hosting a free community lunch tomorrow, Saturday 16 May 2026, from 12:30pm.

Members of the Bendoc Progress Association have been busy making up a beautiful assortment of homemade soups, and everyone is invited to come along.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting our little corner of the world, pop in, have a chat, warm up with a bowl of fantastic soup, and enjoy some good old-fashioned Bendoc community spirit.

Lest We Forget 🇦🇺

To our Bendoc legends, a quick note that the Bendoc Hotel will be closed this Saturday for Anzac Day as Caroline and I attend services to pay our respects.

As veterans, Anzac Day means a great deal to us. It is a time to honour those who served, those who sacrificed, and those who continue to serve our country.

We’d also like to encourage our local community to support the Delegate RSL Sub-Branch Anzac Day service in Delegate. It is always a respectful, inclusive and welcoming ceremony, and everyone is invited to attend.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

A massive afternoon and night ahead for the Bendoc legends as we celebrate another great season with the Bendoc Fishing Club Wind Up at the Lower Bendoc School from 3PM 👏

👉 From two small communities
👉 For our veterans and their families 🇦🇺

This wasn’t just a walk.
This was a month-long effort built on mateship, resilience, and community 💪

Throughout March, our community got behind the Soldier On – March On Challenge, led by Jonathon & Caroline Marshall, with locals stepping up day after day to put in the kilometres and raise awareness.

And then came the big one…

⛰ Hill for Heroes – Delegate Hill Walk

Over 35 legends took on Delegate Hill — backing each other all the way and showing exactly what community spirit looks like 👏

💥 The impact:

👉 Bendoc Legends – $6,894
👉 Delegate RSL Sub-Branch – $5,692.82
👉 Hill for Heroes – $2,465

💰 TOTAL: $15,051.82 for Soldier On 💰

This didn’t come from big cities or big budgets…
This came from:
