I had a very real and interesting conversation with this bloke at ChromeFest . Life has thrown him some very challenging times, but Pete still looks at life like every day is a gift.

Pete was telling me that he and his motorcycle mates' band together to raise money for local children's hospitals and charities! bloody legends!!!

A massive weekend down at ChromeFest!! Speed and Chrome had the opportunity again to work with Central Coast Council and the organizers of ChromeFest to capture the event. With well over 500 cars entered both Saturday and Sunday, and thousands of people wandering around. The atmosphere was totally awesome, but this also meant, we did have our work cut out for us!

We have spent the last few days in the studio editing and going through thousands of images to put a photo set together for our client, ChromeFest. What this means is that for all those that asked where they will see the photos. We will have to wait and see what ChromeFest chooses to do with them.

So Aircooled Assembly Inc holds regular meat raffles at the Rec Club in Barraba. This goes towards funding the awesome event Back to the Bush Auto Festival

Here is 25cm of the Meter of meat tray prize we were very fortunate to win. To win this came as a shock because I couldn't win an argument! Between us and Brad from CoolAz hotrods, we pretty much cleaned up the raffles 😂

Wow what a weekend Back to the Bush Auto Festival was! A huge thanks to Aircooled Assembly Inc for having us hang out with them this weekend. I even got the honor of helping judge the car show, which was a very hard thing to do given the caliber of cars on display.

For those that don't know what Back to the Bush is all about, its a 100% free event with a massive car show, rides, live music and a huge fireworks show in the evening. This is held in Barraba and is tirelessly hosted by The Aircooled Assembly car club to help the local rural community of Barraba thrive.

A huge special thanks to the Denyer Mechanical Repairs family for hosting us and all our hotrod mates at their house over the weekend. What can I say, country hospitality is second to none and Ally and Phil opened up their home for us and all our hot rod mates to stay and keep our cars safe and dry should the rains come.

Go for a drive and check out these little towns! Or even better go to Back to the Bush Auto Festival next year!

A long time before it became my photography business, Speed and Chrome was set to be my mechanical workshop. I was on the tools today and got to revive this massive classic 58 Chev Biscayne for a good mate of mine. This car had been sitting under covers in his garage for the last 5 years or so. We drained the old fuel out of the tank, poured in some new fuel and did a little TLC she fired up like no time had passed at all.

What a cool car to cruise around in! It has a 350 Chev, Gilmer drive and a 2 speed glide so the sound was unreal!!

So some big events coming up over the next few weeks. We are literally counting down the days to the at Barraba on the 18th of next month. And then down at The Entrance the following weekend.

Some food for thought. We as a car community tend to overlook the importance these types of events have for the local communities they are held in. We may enter a car, or even just cruise there for a day trip, enjoy the festivities, have lunch or maybe have a beverage in the local. Then we then head home and tell all out mates how good of a day or weekend we had. Little did we realise that every dollar that is spent in the town we visit helps the community and local business stay afloat in the quiet times. Something to think about and an excuse to take your classic on a long drive!
