Did you know that you have choices when you die that leave a last legacy? These choices are only limited by your imagination.
When a person is passing, one of their concerns (amongst many) is, will my loved ones be okay?
That’s why ‘Legacy Projects’ are a beautiful and comforting option. For example, a client who we were supporting at the end-of-life, wished to leave a final message for her family. So, we recorded this messege and had the honour of delivering it to the family after she had passed away 🩵 The comfort this legacy brought to the family was immeasurable.
Heartfelt legacies have a way of leaving an imprint for beloved ones that go beyond words. Not only do legacy projects bring comfort to the family, they also help the dying person to process their own aspects of dying and grief.
You don’t even have to be actively dying to begin your legacy project. After my dad suddenly passed away, I developed a real fear of dying and my children not having me in their lives. So I began my own legacy project by writing each of my children letters (some about dying and grief). This, I hope will bring them love and comfort one day, but it also helped to process my grief for my dad and my own fears about dying.
Think about creating your own legacy project. It’s never too late, and it’s never too early. From my experience and from the experience of Changing Tides Death Doula Services, I promise it’s worth it 🩵

Apparently it's never too late to take that trip 😀
A woman's ashes were placed in a bottle with a note from her daughter, encouraging people to help her travel the world. The ultimate bon voyage!
