There are 22 suburbs within Whitehorse, stretching from Mont Albert in the west to Vermont in the east. Located just 15 kilometres from Melbourne, the area is known for its bushland reserves. in eastern Melbourne, with highly developed telecommunications, multi media and information technology industries. Significant growth during the post-war period helped Whitehorse establish itself as a family orientated municipality. Good access to public transport has helped further expansion in more recent years.
