There are 22 suburbs within Whitehorse, stretching from Mont Albert in the west to Vermont in the east. Located just 15 kilometres from Melbourne, the area is known for its bushland reserves. Whitehorse claims to be the largest technology precinct

in eastern Melbourne, with highly developed telecommunications, multi media and information technology industries. Significant growth during the post-war period helped Whitehorse establish itself as a family orientated municipality. Good access to public transport has helped further expansion in more recent years.

🚨A 64-year-old Mount Waverley man has died after he was struck by a car on Stephensons Rd. 🚨
A 72-year-old Canterbury man was driving the car who struck the pedestrian on July 15.
He stopped at the scene.
The 64-year-old was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries and died one week later.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

🎉🎉 Box Hill Institute students named finalists for the 2025 Victorian Training Awards. 🎉🎉

Certificate III in Electronics and Communications graduate Zelman Wilkinson was nominated for Koorie Student of the Year for his work in connecting remote Indigenous communities.
Matilda McDonald, a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing graduate, was nominated for Trainee of the Year for her work with animals.
The 'Improving Education Pathways for Deaf Students in the AMEP' program was nominated for an Industry Collaboration Award for its approach in teaching English and Auslan to deaf migrants.
Box Hill Institute chief executive Grant Radford said he was "incredibly proud" of the finalists.
“The awards showcase outstanding contributions the vocational education sector makes to our community," he said.
"The dedication of our teachers and the strong connections we maintain with industry partners are essential to delivering transformative education for our students.
These efforts empower students to build successful futures, and we are honoured to see that reflected in these nominations."
The winners will be announced on 19 September.
