The principled move from authors, who withdrew from this event when the local council issued a restrictive code of conduct notice, is to be applauded. We have helped promote the Bendigo Writers Festival for free for over a decade through our site and other social media channels. That will now cease.

A Victorian writers festival's code of conduct has set a "dangerous precedent", one author says, after more than 50 writers and moderators withdrew from the event.

Applications are now open for the 2025 Guildford Banjo Jamboree to be held between the 19th and 21st of September. We’d also like to let you know that Volunteer and Stall Applications are now open on our website. Volunteers are such an integral part of the festival and contribute so much heart, and the stalls provide sustenance and atmosphere and bring so much creativity into the festival.
