We have such a great commentary team! Congrats to Gemma and Fletch for being the first recipients of a great award!!

AFLW up and coming football commentators Fletcher Fraser & Gemma Hooper win the Nat Edwards Trophy.
Nat Edwards is a successful sports commentator & Journalist in Melbourne who started at 94.1FM 3WBC. Nat has moved onto the AFL and channel 7 but is always encouraging the younger generation of broadcasters coming through. The trophy is named after Nat.

The award is given annually to the most outstanding talent at 94.1FM 3WBC in the Football Commentary team and was announced at the stations annual general meeting last week.

Fletcher Fraser was announced as the winner for 2023 and has shown dramatic improvement since joining the commentary team in 2019, Fletch now hosts and does play by play calling for the stations VFL and AFLW broadcasts.

Gemma Hooper was announced as the winner for 2024. Gemma also joined in 2019 and has risen through the ranks from commentating on the boundary to play by play commentary and now hosting AFLW and VFL games.

Gemma and Fletcher have both worked well as a team and are always encouraging other members with support and feedback.

To see their progression has been brilliant to see. Both Fletcher and Gemma have a very bright future in the industry and are extremely passionate about all sports.

What a great day!!

3WBC broadcasted live from the Glenferrie Festival today where over 60,000 people had a great day enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of great food and the coming together of a great community.

Well done to KJ and Pete for chatting and interviewing the various community groups and dignitaries on a busy day.

Keeping the kids entertained was our very own baloonologist Michael Crichton who formed amazing balloon animals for 5 hours straight with no breaks!

That’s above and beyond!!
