Dear Heart of the Storm family,

In an effort to find solutions to sustainable land management to avoid fire events like we saw in the Black Summer, a beautiful partnership has been taking place between the Mongarlowe RFS and the Walbunja Fire Practitioners.

Together they've been walking the land, and looking at the power of collaborative burning projects to promote resilience in the landscape as well as our community.

We are thrilled that Upper Shoalhaven Landcare had the idea to create a short film about this process, made with our local filmmaker, Clare Young.

Tonight at The Street Theatre in Canberra, Heart of the Storm will be the topic of discussion about the Black Summer, and how we can harness the power of storytelling as a wellspring of information and healing.

88.9FM - Braidwood FM’s Gordon Waters, podcast creator Clare Young, and bushfire survivor Hamish Hudson will join ANU researchers Catherine Travis and Ksenia Gnevsheva to explore what the podcast revealed about the value of community connection.
