Born in Brisbane Australia in 1960 where he completed his Primary and High School education. At fifteen years of age he enlisted in the Australian Navy serving nine years on eighteen different ships and bases. Deploying overseas on four occasions he was introduced to a plethora of different cultures throughout Southeast Asia and the South Pacific. To enlist at such a young age unfortunately left h

im with several disorders that so many other veterans must carry and suffer daily. It was during those early stages of his enlistment he took up pen and paper and began to journal his experiences, allowing a much-needed avenue of expressing and downloading his emotions without ridicule. Upon the completion of his military service Shane entered a world that he had not seen since he enlisted at fifteen years of age and the transition to civilian life was not without its difficulties. Shane would go on to work as a landscape and paving brick layer, Harley Davidson mechanic, during which time he would excel at being an outright rebel. He would eventually find a position within Airservices Australia where he could utilise his military communications training. Writing would continue to provide solace and a sanctuary, where his creative soul could roam free. In his mid-twenties the thirst for a creative outlet could not be quenched and he formed a band. His collection of written words morphed into a three-hour set of original songs that would lead to the release of an album. Still not content with his 'fifteen minutes of fame’, he would open two record stores and establish an Australia wide compact disc club. In 2009 Shane released three coffee table books of poetry and in 2010 published the hardcover book ‘The Poet’ containing 121 poems. 2024, after a seven-year battle with his disorders, he published a revised edition of ‘The Poet’. Future projects include a series of illustrated poetry books in collaboration with a sunshine coast artist and a memoir. Shane now lives and writes on a small island off the east coast of Australia.

Hello to all of the 21,000 friends I have following my words. I am eternally grateful for your continued support. There is a reason I have been quiet on the poetry posting. I have been busy writing for my new book 'Just another book of f poetry - Infinite Destinies'. It contains 158 pages of 12,300 words, a compilation of my works. The title is not 'in line' with what you would expect of a book of poetry, which is exactly why I chose this title. It resonates with those who consider poetry passe and to get them past the cover of a book of poetry, the title must draw them into the unknown from the start. I know those of you who purchase a copy will be happy to place it on a shelf in the library of your minds. Please take a moment to visit my webpage and please 'share' this post with those who might never have thought of reading a book of poetry.

In The Library Of Hope

Within the silent murky chaos
Of dormant hazy thoughts
Ideas collide and ignite
Creating an exploding super nova
Raining shards of molten matter
Onto the shores of solitary isolation

Words once scribed upon a parchment
Constructed manuscripts of desire
Now lay sealed behind a portal of lost hope
Halting those who wished to visit the bookshelf
Assembled in the garden of vanished dreams
Where the memoir of lost souls reside

Now liberated from those shackled confines
Freed from the complexities of uncertainty
Sitting silently under shadows of the moon
Savouring every silent solitary moment
Eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new dawn
Thirsting the quenching beams of sunlight

There amongst the organic fallen nourishment
Upon an island of possibilities
Grows a new garden of abundant dreams
Hidden on an atoll in an ocean of possibilities
There beneath the forests lush canopy
A library of hope and creativity blooms
