It’s hard to not feel guilty being upset at this situation, knowing I am far more privileged than the thousands of people this constant immigration fight affects. I can’t stop thinking about the asylum seekers and refugees who must navigate such bureaucracy. Or the international students who will now have to make an impossible decision on coming to Australia without their family in tow. And all immigrants across the country who are on the front lines of the heightened racism and anti-immigrant sentiment every single day.”
