🏠 24.3% of Australians escaping domestic and family violence in 2025 were unable to access the accommodation they needed.

For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, that figure rises to 41.66%.

New national data is highlighting the devastating barriers many victim-survivors still face when trying to seek safety.

From a lack of safe housing, to fears around reporting violence, to perpetrators using phones and technology to monitor and isolate.

We know safety is about more than leaving violence. It’s about having access to housing, culturally safe support, legal help, and the ability to stay connected safely.
