There is nothing better than when your client demonstrates to ‘the powers that be’ that they are the experts in the field.

That’s what happened when the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Milton Dick MP, hosted Gallipoli Medical Research in the Speakers Courtyard at Parliament House in Canberra in the presence of Veterans Affairs Minister Matt Keogh and former Governor General Quentin Bryce.

Gallipoli Medical Research’s CEO Miriam Kent GAICD starred as she showcased how they are improving the lives of our veteran community through research with impact!!!

These are exciting time as the Royal Commission recommendations turn to action and Gallipoli Medical Research, in partnership with RSL Queensland, are creating world-first tools and programs to support veterans, and their families, transition from Defence.

Fantastic to host Deputy PM and Defence Minister Richard Marles MP at Gallipoli Medical Research to showcase how they enhance the health and wellbeing of veterans and their families through innovative medical research.

GMR’s CEO Miriam Kent demonstrated their Mental Readiness for Military Transition Scale (MT-Ready) a world-first psychometric tool to predict difficulties a veteran may experience when transitioning to civilian life and the appropriate supports that are required.

In the GMR labs, Professor Darrell Crawford shared how scientific and medical experts investigate new and innovative treatments, interventions and educational programs that make an extraordinary difference to the lives of veterans and their families

Great Italian food matched the company as industry leaders from the employment, skills, training and small business sectors broke bread with Queensland Shadow Minister Brent Mickelberg MP - Member for Buderim and Rebecca Young at Casa Italia in New Farm.

Not only is Brent on top of his brief, but his humility shone through.

As a result of his service in Afghanistan, Brent shared his PTSD challenges and how important it is to maximise the skills and expertise of veterans as they transition to the civilian workforce.

'Meat me at the grill' was the theme as Logan City Mayoral candidate, Jon Raven for Mayor, lunched with 150 staff at Holmwood Highgate Aust Pty Ltd in Loganholme.

Holmwood Highgate's David Mellish intrinsically understands a BBQ is the ultimate crowd-pleaser.

There were smiles,all round, as Jon shook hands with every employee.

Brisbane corporates were out in force to raise money to build Communify's Bindi Bindi Place at Zillmere

It’s an early intervention centre to help 0-6 years olds at risk of entering the child protection system, particularly First Nations children.

Today I had dual roles:
- Hosting Win Win Outcomes table with The Hon Milton Dick MP (blatant name drop!); and
- Being a 'first time' auctioneer - Thank you Steve Wyborn for your generosity in bidding for the Brisbane Lions Corporate Box experience.

Positive people make things happen . . . and Jon Raven for Mayor will do exactly that if elected as Logan City Council Mayor on 16 March.

I love Jon’s description of Logan as the epicentre of South East Queensland with Logan Entertainment Precinct to the north (Brisbane), Logan Shores to the south (Gold Coast), Logan Ranges to the west (Toowoomba) and to the east, Logan by the Bay (Redlands)

The best time to engage a political party is . . . yesterday.

Being invited to engage the Queensland Liberal National Party’s leadership team at a Queensland Economic Future Forum
was a Win Win Outcome for both my clients and the potential future Government of Queensland.

Thank you David Crisafulli and David Janetzki for listening to the issues faced by my clients, their solutions, the benefits of their solutions and how they demonstrate their claims as industry leaders.

It was also cool to have the opportunity to sit in the Speakers Chair on our tour of Parliament House.
