ACHTUNG! We just wrapped a uber-powerful episode of The Wolf In The Room with Dr Maike Neuhaus.

Over one hour of material - eeek! 😲

We went deep from the science of positive psychology to the real-life messiness of practicing self-compassion over self-pity, post-natal depression, living with purpose (without the pressure), and even a detour into scuba diving in Byron Bay - so yes, almost 'literally' deep into the ocean off Byron!

What made this one really stand out?

Firstly, it is the first time using Riverside.fm video (which destroys any of my previous audio tricks of foyers, elevators and aircraft flying over!). So will see how it looks before publishing to YouTube!

But most importantly, it stood out as it was real.
It was open.
It was honest.
(And someone maaaaay have swore - not once, but twice! I didn't even get to the censor button! 😆)

We both opened up about our lived experiences including a raw discussion about contacting Lifeline and the feelings associated with the abyss of excrement that is Depression. Ooooh it was deep!

It’s heartfelt, thoughtful, and hopefully some useful practical takeaways for anyone supporting themselves or someone they love.

Now into the editing booth!

Tonight is one of my favourite nights of the month. Parmy Army Club night!

I crave this connection with other men.
Other brothers from another mother.
Other humans walking through life unaware they have lost their tribe, their kin, their pack.

We have new members joining every month. More men talking in a safe judgement-free zone every month.

We have men who don't want to show up, but do anyway. And they have a great night and then drive home thinking "Geez I'm glad I went".

It's not holding hands singing kumbaya.

It is a group of men just wanting to have a night off from being men feeling isolated, a little lost, and not sure where they fit in this life.

But at the Parmy Army Club, or many other wonderful men's gatherings like Tough Guy Book Club, Men's Table, Men Shed etc, we feel like we belong again.

So whether it is the PAC, the pack, the shed, or the table, know that you are welcome wherever you go.

Try it. Just once and see how you feel.

One thing I promise you, man. You will not feel unsafe, judged, or a misfit.

Tonight, the Lord Alfred Hotel on Caxton Street, at precisely 6:32pm, I will be there with some other blokes, k***s, jokers, punters, male models, brothers, fathers, sons, husbands, boyfriends, mates and friends.
