I just got the SmallRig FX5 cage and Vmount plate with monitor caddy.
Cage is pretty much one thing i always get for my cameras. Honestly the main reasons are the arca Swiss bottom and multiple mounting points.
So many reasons to have these two.
The loop handle is nice too since I don’t actually own any.

Using tap to focus sometimes is my favourite way in these types of situations. Most of the time I will lock focus on a spot and get the talent to raise their hand to that spot but it may take dozens of times to really nail focus.
I also had to adjust the focus settings in the FX30 to transition slower so it doesn't focus on the background when there is no arm in the frame.
Obviously dialing down your aperture will also help with this which increases the depth of field and giving you more wiggle room. I like to live dangerously and film wide open sometimes ;)
