To the bloke who reckons the kids are his whole world… but also won’t miss a chance to show ’em the whole wide world too. From muddy tracks to beach camps, he’s always there – coffee in hand, fixing whatever we’ve broken, and somehow still the biggest kid of the lot. Thanks for every adventure, big or small, and for proving dads really do have eyes in the back of their head.

Pulled a sneaky one this time – told Deb’s parents we were heading off-grid for a few days, but really we were duckin’ and divin’ through the bushes to pull off a surprise visit. 🌿😂 The looks on their faces when we popped up outta nowhere – priceless! Tears were flowing, smiles all ‘round, and I reckon they nearly dropped their cuppas. ☕ Moments like that make the miles on the road worth every bit. Fair dinkum, family surprises hit harder than a magpie in nesting season! 🐦❤️

Packing up the van for the last time on this lap of Australia and of course, the heavens opened. ☔ It wasn’t just rain – it was bucketing down like someone tipped the big Aussie water tank right on our heads. Every rope, peg and soggy sock turned into a wrestling match, and by the end we looked like drowned rats with a caravan. 🐀😂 Still, fair dinkum, if you can pack up in that weather and laugh about it, you can handle anything the road throws at ya! 🇦🇺

Wrapped up the last leg of our Lap of Australia at Paradise Country on the Gold Coast, and what a way to finish! 🏕️ We parked up among the kangaroos, then hit Wet’n’Wild and Movie World to give the kids one last thrill before the wheels stop turning. 🎢💦 The only thing we didn’t order was the rain – and fair dinkum, it bucketed down like the weather gods were having a laugh at our expense. ☔ Still, nothing a poncho, soggy chips, and a good Aussie grin couldn’t fix. 🇦🇺 End of the lap, but the memories? They’re gold! 🌟

Pulled up at Agora Hideaway in NSW – the spot once run by the legends from Big Oz Explorers – and crikey, what a beauty! 🇦🇺 You’ve got wide open space to spread out the van, plus creek-side camping that’ll have you grinning ear to ear. 🌿🏕️ The kids can run wild, the water’s right there for a paddle, and you can kick back under the gums with a cold one in hand. 🍻 It’s the kind of place that makes you think, “Yep, this is why we hit the road.” Proper Aussie camping at its best!

Pulled into the Bingara River Camp in NSW and fair dinkum, this freebie is an absolute gem! 🏕️ The kids went straight for the rope swing and splash into the river like they were auditioning for the Aussie Olympics. 🏊‍♂️ When they weren’t in the water, they were tearing it up at the skate park and BMX pump track just up the road – talk about burning off the sugar highs! 😂 For us, it’s the kind of camp where you can kick back with a snag on the plate while the kids wear themselves out. Now that’s a win for everyone! 🇦🇺

Pulled up at the Railway Hotel in Gilgandra where the deal is simple – camp for free out the back as long as you grab a feed inside. 🍽️ Too easy, mate! Of course we did – we all gotta eat, and no one’s keen on sweating over the camp stove when it’s hotter than a shearer’s armpit. 🌞 Supporting the locals while skipping the dishes? That’s what we call a win-win in the Aussie outback. 🍻🇦🇺
